Places to trade stock like ameritrade
Hello
looking for some information on places for someone just starting to play with the market like ameritrade.com? I heard they suck but cant remember where i read about it. what online brokers would be good for someone just starting out that knows nothing about the market? |
Try Etrade. I managed to lose a nice chunk of change on the market, and Etrade made it very easy and user friendly! :Graucho

Ameritrade is not bad.
Etrade, Scottrade, Datak are pretty good as well. They all are a little different, but basically the same it just depends on your preference. |
Thanks guys i will check out etrade
|
I recommend etrade as well if you're looking to get fleeced on the market..... :winkwink:
|
etrade.com scottstrade.com

Stay away from places like Etrade and that. If you really want too trade try out something like http://www.tradecast.com/ or http://www.cybertrader.com/

Fuck etrade. I was day trading with them in 90' and they fucked up one of my trades big time, I lost about 2k because of it. My order had gone through, then two days later they sent me an email saying that it hadn't actually gone through. I had a fucking confirmation number! Still didn't go through, they said. So they just took the money from my account. There was nothing I could do about it because it does say somewhere in the terms that they're not responsible for trades going through. What kind of brokerage is that? Fuck em and their $20 dollar trades. Go with datek.com, you'll be much happier. $9.95 trades, streaming quotes in real time, guarantees trade execution within 60 second or the trade is free. If you type in 10 free trades in yahoo or google you can open an introductory account with free trades.

I prefer Datek...had problems with etrade in the past as well :BangBang:
Muffy |
Fuck etrade too!
Go with http://www.datek.com ( datek was bought by ameritrade ) or http://www.firstrade.com or just go to gomez.com and look at the reviews then visit each site and make a decision on your own. Good luck! |
ok, now your all confusing me. cant everyone agree on a good place to start? haha
|
Thanks for the gomez link Dax.
Charles Schwab seems to be ranked highest, anyone use them? |
http://www.cybertrader.com/ was bought and is owned by Schwab; it is for a very active trader though. I think the original owner/man who wrote the brains of the trading system is a one hell of a smart man. With their system you can pick off stocks on the ecn's that are selling on the cheap and dump them for a profit on SOES in seconds.

http://www.harrisdirect.com/
These guys used to be DLJ Direct. Very easy to work with. Real time. Try them, and you will agree. They have a great research section that gives you up to dte info on up and coming stocks, trends, and failures |
KRosh
I use dlj or now harris, but I thought this guy wanted on the cheap... harrisdirect IS the best one if not one of the top 3 for the past like 5 yrs, another one which is kicking ass lately is quickandreilly.com good pricing and good research. Schwab is very good, I just can't seem to get a good vibe off them.. If you are going for the best online broker w/o considering price, not one better than http://www.harrisdirect.com They were pcdirect.com in the early 90's then the former DLJ ( Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette ) bought them, then DLJ got bought out by CSFB ( Credit Suisse First Boston ) and now Harris bought them out. Excellend research good interface $20 a trade, but if you keep over a million bux in there, everything is beautiful !! Peace PS - Before I started doing porn I was doing the stock market. |
Mytrack is pretty good.. I've been with em for awhile.. no problems...
Flat rate $12.95/trade.. no added cost per shares that exceed a certain qty. |
I did have a second thought. Just take all the money you are going to invest, put it in a big pile in your driveway and light it on fire. Burn it all right up. The end result will most likely be the same. Actually the driveway bonfire may prove MORE profitable if you do it when it is cold, because then you will gain the benefit of some heat.
