New 7 Wonders of the World?
 

Should there be a new Seven Wonders of the world? Of the original ones, only the Great Pyramid of Giza is still standing, so now there's a vote to declare 7 new ones.

Here's a list of the candidates and a place to vote.

Good Morning America dedicated a whole week to that a couple weeks ago. Number 5 on their list was the internet. Now, I love the 'net, but c'mon...it's not one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

I never saw BUILDINGS as wonders.It even makes me laugh....it's stupid.
The true wonders are so simple that we cannot see how wonderful they really are.Among these : to see,to hear,to feel,to laugh,to taste, TO LOVE.

well, Stone Henge and Easter Island should be given choices...
beyond that, I'd go with the Great Wall of China... and maybe the Sistine Chapel just because of it's history.

These are the only things that truly amaze me.

I agree on Stonehenge and Easter Island. I would like to see either of those over the Statue of Liberty, although that was my attempt at patriotism. ;)

There are really quite a few who are deserving and it's hard to just choose seven

Giza is already a wonder of the ancient world.

But still .... fucking awesome and one of the greatest monuments to man.

Well, those are the 7 wonders of the ancient world. There are 7 wonders of the modern world, 7 natural wonders etc.

Some of the things on that list are far too *young* to be considered an ancient wonder.

If the Eiffel Tower is one of the 7 Wonders then the human race sucks. Tokyo Tower is a replica. How can you mass produce a Wonder?

If you did include both Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty, then I guess Suez canal should not be taken out of the list as well.

If we know how something was built - ie the Statue of Liberty, how can it be a wonder..even if otherwise beautiful.

nah, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

Borobadur could be... it is a mystery in terms of purpose and design still and it is a pretty amazing place!
