Ordered a package thru FedEx from the US to Canada.. what happens with customs?

Will the package still be delivered to my door? It wasnt labelled as a 'gift'
How long does it normally take to receive a package from Fedex is you live in canada, and its originally from the US?

Depends on what was inside. Electronics, food, etc... they may be held longer. Most things should get cleared without problems.

usually delivered without any problems, how heavy is it? if its a document, its no problem, if its a big package 10-20lbs, theyll want to know whats in it

kaori 11-25-2006 01:21 AM

shouldn't be a problem with fedex.. a week usually, and not as much customs as UPS...

KrisKross 11-25-2006 05:15 PM

They'll assfuck you on customs fees.

AllStar 11-25-2006 06:11 PM

depends on the value and if the paper work was filled out properly.
usually 1 day is one day if it is done correctly!

squishypimp 11-25-2006 06:12 PM

careful fedex usually charges a Broker Fee of like $40.00.

TORTOISE 11-25-2006 06:53 PM

Fedex ususally get thier paperwork in order..hey they do this job every day..so delivery should be quick and not a problem.....the problem can be the value of the item and the mood of customs....If its a high value item fedex will give you a invoice on delivery to cover gst tax etc and a broker fee etc as they paid it at the border..it can work out expensive and you will have a invoice with 30 days to pay fedex on delivery.
Example..on a bad day you could purchase something in the usa for 20 bucks and because fedex paid the gst tax etc they charge you 40 bucks for the fact they paid duties for you....

So beware if importing from the usa to check what your total fees might be.

Also note;fedex will not put the item as a gift etc so dont ask lol...:thumbsup they do everything correct which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it.

Hope that helps

If it's a substance of some kind you may get it clipped. About two years ago Fedex started x-raying and electronically sniffing everything, you need to use US postal service, they only scan random packages as funny as that sounds, which gives you a 1 in 500 chance of getting through, much better odds...not that I would really know:winkwink:

The fucking USPS lost two different packages that I sent to Canada. Lost the motherfuckers...they disappeared into thin air. I refuse to ship anything out of the US now unless it's by FedEx.

I have been raped a few times by FedEx a few times for "brokerage" fee of $40 bucks or more. Half the time it was more than the actual value of the item

Vitasoy 11-25-2006 08:30 PM

Fedex air there usually no brokerage.. fedex ground you'll get hit hard with brokerage + the usual taxes. I remember getting a laptop shipped and marked value of 300 and getting hit with $100 cdn of brokerage fees and taxes!!
