BlueDesignStudios 11-24-2006 11:43 PM

I think it's pretty cool, but fairly expensive for what it is..

Rochard 11-25-2006 12:15 AM

The biggest disadvantage of such cars is it's speed - It just cannot keep up with gasoline powered cars. They are claiming 0-60 times in four seconds which is very fast.

If this is true, it could be the beginning of the end of the cars we drive today.

Elon Musk (Chairman)
Elon Musk has been the primary funding source for Tesla Motors, from when Tesla Motors was just three people and a business plan to present day, having led the Series A, Series B and co-led the Series C. Electric vehicles have long been one of Elon's primary interests, stemming from his days in the early nineties working on high energy density capacitor technology in Silicon Valley.

Elon is known for co-founding PayPal and Zip2 and founding SpaceX. The latter company is in the business of developing and launching the world's most advanced rockets for satellite and later human transportation. As Chairman of the Board of Tesla Motors, Elon helps develop the company's business and product strategy, and assists with knowledge of composite and metallic structures, domestic manufacturing and navigating federal regulations.

Don't forget the two owners of Google who are also investing in it. They each drive one.

4Man 11-25-2006 10:49 AM

Thjat is good looking car

volante 11-25-2006 11:12 AM

$100,000 for that? Buy the Lotus Elise on which it's based for $40,000 and spend the rest on fuel and planting trees. Then read up on "Dust to dust" energy costs if you're misguided enough to think this is a great way to save the environment.
