Go Daddy strikes again! If you're linking to...

euberporn.com, I'm sorry but go daddy decided I didn't really want to autorenew that domain and deleted it.
As I expect that domain to 404 to a popup hell as soon as it's bought up I would ask that the TGP owners that are linking to it to pull the links (I'm sure most on that domain have fallen off your pages by now, I have not worked it in some time, but just in case I'm making this announcement.). I'm sorry that it has come to this, I know this is an added pain, but that domain is no longer in my control whatsoever.

Thank you,
Fluid

That sucks, man. Sorry to hear it.

Fluid 11-24-2006 06:29 PM

Thanks,
what really sucks is, I'd never once had a problem with them in 5 yrs and now they pull this. :(
Thank god they did it now, I was planning to start using that domain for galleries again soon.

it says still pending call them up and you might be able to get it back

I hate losing domains, I lost a domain from 97 because of something like this, pissed me off huge.

minusonebit 11-24-2006 06:41 PM

So let me see if I understand this: you didn't renew your domain, someone else got it and now you're pissed at your registrar? Makes perfect sense to me!

Xplicit 11-24-2006 06:43 PM

Doesnt godaddy have a grace-period of 2 weeks or something where if you forgot to renew they hold it for you?

Meaning you would have had to really fuck up to lose it.

30 days, I think....but now they impose an $80 fee to get it back. I'm guessing they have quit sending the renewal e-mails so they can collect that extra cash.

If your domain was set to autorenew and did not (probably because your credit card on file was not valid), then just call them up and tell them. Not a big deal.

Longer. I think it is 30 days and then it goes up for auction, and then after the auction it is 2 weeks before it is actually transferred over to the new owner. During that period, the previous owner could renew and retain rights to the domain.

pornguy 11-24-2006 06:49 PM

They suck, I have some domains left with them, and I have been trying to move them but they always make some sort of issue.

cheekycherry 11-24-2006 06:51 PM

Godaddy are total scum. Use them at your own peril.

cheekycherry 11-24-2006 06:54 PM

Same issue here pornguy, last few domains with them and for the life of me I can't get them to transfer out.

they used one of my old CC's on file, I called them, they want 80 bucks to fix the mistake. It's not a huge bag of cash, but I have this thing about me where my ass clamps shut to keep me from being fucked over twice. I won't be giving them another cent.

Interaction on a message board has this minor requirement called reading.

You failed the requirements.

that period long passed without an email. It was supposed to auto-renew over 30 days ago, they deleted it on the 8th, still no email. I assumed everything was right cause I saw go daddy charge my credit card, but that was for another domain that was expiring that I never got an email about either. Luckily that one went through.

It's not a matter of I forgot, I was never notified that the credit card info was out of date and the charge didn't go through, meanwhile everything in my account manager looked ok. I didn't even notice the domain missing from the list.
