Jay - I noted a while ago that you wrote a post here about your xxx-links site doing superbly in Goog for the term "xxx" - definately a reason to be pleased.

Just poking round today and ive seen youre not showing for xxx at the moment.

Do you know what happened to your listing?

When I do a domain search for your site - I see the indented listing (above the "more pages from....") - and a good inclusion count of thousands of pages.

But ranking is down for the xxx

Any ideas why? Cos I suffer the same kind of probs on google.

DarkJedi - do you think google hates affiliate sites and just dumps as many as it can into the supps?

I sometimes get the impression that affiliates have no fecking chance in the google serps anymore. Not long term anyway.

What are your thoughts?

i've been having some interesting conversations with quite a few pretty big seo people that i consider around or at the level that jay is. we were shocked to say the least to see major major adult keywords being pointed to mostly educational and un-adult related serps. even words like "sluts" go to sites that are not remotely adult related. anal sex, pussy, you name it, they were all jacked at the time we were looking at them about 3 days ago. it would not surprise me at all that "xxx" would yield anything different.

at least for -xxx links- he has 1

his bookmarkers are massive anyhow, so i wouldn't think that some rollercoaster google hijinx would make a tremendous impact.

from the circle of people that were talking about this, i can say, we were all very surprised at what has been happening.

The problem is (and this is speculative) that google could roll this out to more phrases - and even (ultimately) brand phrases. It would appear at the moment that its quite a "soft" attack against porn sites - maybe a taster of things to come against longer or more targetted search phrases?

It is true that xxx-links may have lots of bookmarks - but for the further collection of bookmarks, and therefore continued growth - this could be a potential blow for many many many porn sites.

If theres one thing im fed up with online these days - its fucking google.

Dood...this is something that I have been watching happen on Google for years now. It seems they want to bury the terms that might-be-adult vs. might-not-be-adult. "XXX" is a movie as well, so it makes sense (if you stategy is to lower the number of accidental porn encounters) to push the adult sites lower. They've been flipping that filter on and off for the last 2-3 months. Porn searchers will just have to be changing the way they search and the traffic will come right back to a normal level, I'm already right where i need to be:
