Over 100 horses rescued, 18 died in The Netherlands
 

I have been following this for awhile now, in The Nehterlands, over 100 horses belonging to one guy got stuck on an island after some flooding, finally some women took it upon themselves to resecue them from the island.

It was on the news here the day after. Most of them are salami now, he keeps the good ones for breeding

Horses are strong swimmers, I don't know why that wasn't done in the first place. There is a swim for the horses from Chinquotegue to Assetegue every single year, and as far as I know the instances of drowning are very minimal. Some horses are even specifically bred to be swimmers.

It's nice that citizens pitched in to help.

I liked the vid.
Noticed that they use Vangelis music when the show horses. It is the third time. :)

The music was just cheesy. But it was wonderful to see the horses move like that. :-)

I really hope that was not true that they made salami of those horses :(

thats crap I never saw that anywhere. Theyre doing a legal investigation to the guy, he can end up in jail and I wouldnt mind.
