I hope the Poms bought lubricant with them... I have a feeling they may need it after seeing todays performance by the Aussies.

Czech 11-23-2006 02:36 AM

I wish I was back home in the land of Oz. Australia will win 4-1 :thumbsup

F***ing Scots!!!!

You must be happy with your team's result the other night!

England looked bad so far, no drive, hunger or control. A good night's kip, stay off the vegemite and they'll be back with a vengeance! :thumbsup

C'mon England!

Tell me about it, Pietersen got decent turn so imagine when the track is a couple of days older what Warney will be doing!!!!! Does not bode well for the three lions!

Naturally, but after the last year of the English and their incessant gloating, it's time we took a dump right on top of their team :thumbsup

BlueDesignStudios 11-23-2006 05:17 AM

I've got a good feeling about this...

Lee 11-23-2006 05:20 AM

had every right to gloat but the truth is that English people (and British too) really aren't happy without something to complain about so it is a perfect start for the average Englishman.

BUT GO THE AUSSIES

rick-e 11-23-2006 07:00 AM

Looks like a one sided affair so far, lets hope flintoff or kevin come up with some inspiring performances. I love to see the underdog win :)

lol - I suppose they did have reason to gloat, but I was over it when down at the local beach and overheard 2 poms talking.

Pom 1 - 'this sand, it just gets everywhere'
Pom 2 - 'well what do you expect from a country that can't play cricket'

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

sacX 11-23-2006 02:56 PM

I always thought it was good the English won the last series. It does get boring if it's never competitive, and plus it's kind of funny to see the English win something, they get so excited because it's such a rare occurrence.

Big John 11-23-2006 03:01 PM

I know...let's leave our best spin bowler out and instead have one of the 'old guard' in whos not quite recovered from injury and has no confidence. After all he's white and 'one of the lads'. :(
</ sarcasm>

Don't suppose the Aussies fancy lending us a couple of bowlers?

See, you think they don't know it and that will hurt. Listen to any sports chat radio show and they never deny that Aussies kick their ass in just about any sport. They enjoy having that huge hurdle to overcome.

for all you know i could be in the falkland islands. it just so happens that i am in the british isles, but luckily not england.

so i dont have a clue what cricket is or what your talking about, but i'm guessing its a cricket world cup final against australia by the way your going on about it.

Sarah_Jayne 11-23-2006 03:36 PM

I am sure most British people - not just English - have heard of 'The Ashes'. Sort of hard to miss it being mentioned on tv, radio, papers, etc.

When I first moved here it was baffling but a decade on I pretty much get it.

viva celebs 11-23-2006 03:47 PM

maybe on ENGLISH tv, radio, papers etc its mentioned all the time, luckily i dont have to watch, listen, read etc that crap.

how much do you know about shinty? its all over the tv, radio, papers etc here, so if your in the uk it must be the same for you, right?

I was just trying to have some friendly banter with you. Relax, it might do some good. I wasn't being mean with my initial comment but just taking the tone in which the thread was started and being surprised that anyone has manged to escape it. There is a Scottish person in this thread that knew what I was talking about. Chill.
