My alternator busted in the middle of four lanes of traffic...
 

That was highly unpleasant my alternator is dead. Lost all power in my car in the middle of four lanes of traffic. Some guy helped me push it off the road. Always nice to see someone help a stranger. Good news is its only gonna cost like $150 to get it back in tip-top shape.

Oh well, Happy Turkey Day (tomorrow). Help someone out, a simple gesture could really mean the world to someone.

it's more then an alternator if you lost all power, you can run a car off the battery.

run a car off of a battery HAHA! are you kidding... for what 5mins maybe.

alternator recharges the battery. you're battery is pretty much just there to power jumpstart the alternator and keep your clock time.

A carbureted car with no lights on, no stereo on, no AC on, maybe.

A modern fuel-injected car? Not so much. You might have enough juice in a battery to find a safe place to pull over, but chances are you wouldn't have noticed when the alternator died.
