Quite possibly the best Bond film ever.

There were eight of us that went to see Casino Royale last night and the reaction was unanimous. The new Bond film is excellent.

The onslaught of heart pounding action, beautiful scenes and cinematography, as well as a very cleverly written script make this possibly the best Bond movie ever. The intense and stoic adaptation of Bond as portrayed by Danial Craig is an outstanding performance even if you are not enticed to compare it to some of the previous attempts to bring Bond to the big screen.

In this film we are introduced to Bond "before" he became agent 007. The adaptation of the Ian Flemming story works perfectly as a stand alone film even if you've never seen a Bond movie before.

Not only do I think this is the best movie I've seen all year, it just may be the best Bond film ever made. But let me stop right here. The less you know about this movie prior to seeing it.. the better.

Whats with the orange text? Does this make the post more interesting? No it doesn't.

I've been watching Bond movies my entire life and I thought this was one of the worst ones of all times. It went on forever and the lines were cheesy and lame.

What's with that creepy part when he puts her hand in his mouth in the shower to comfort her after that guy died?

wow, i have to check this movie out

Himuro 11-22-2006 01:26 PM

a lot of people who "gave it a shot" were not disappointed, looks like I'm gonna have to do the same soon

This movie rocks. That free running scene at the begining is just brilliant.

Jason Bourne? Jason Bored in comparison.

Coming really soon to a cinema near me! Can't wait :)!

That movie SUCKED compared to most Bond flicks.

For a "prequel" it should have been more realistic. I wasn't aware that they had such high tech cell technology back then.

I don't see how any self respecting James Bond fan could have enjoyed that flick.

Why do you flame a guy who's whinny about colored text? Does that make you a bad ass? No it does not.

Nah, Aaron... although it is the original Bond story, it's as if the Bond franchise is starting over. Bond starts today, not fifty years ago. I'll admit I was a little confused about the date placement in the beginning, but once I understood the direction the film was taking I found it brilliant. I was thrilled they didn't try to go back and explain everything. Perhaps Bond purists won't see it this way, but I loved this approach.

I think this film is a departure and new direction, sort of the way the last Batman movie (also excellent) removed itself from the earlier films.

I tend to agree with the reviews I read at Rotten Tomatoes and right now the film has a 94% positive review.
