Can someone tell me why the Matrix movies are rated "R"?
 

I'm lost. Kid wants to see them but she doesnt get to hit Rated films. However from what I remember they are WAY more tame than ALOT of PG movies recently.

Dunno, maybe there's a few scenes with excessive violence? Maybe they're just 'disturbing', dunno.

..and I like pie. Lemon pie. My God how I love lemon pie.

I can't remember why, but I know that I wouldn't let the munchkin watch them, and he's 10.

Then again, I'm a real bitch about what I let him watch.

Jurassic Park
Reign of Fire
Alien VS. Predator
Boogeyman
Transporter 2

Etc.



I just don't get it.

It has to be the violence. I can't imagine anything else it would be. I think in Matrix reloaded during the "cave dance" thing they showed one nipple, but I can't remember any excessive cursing or anything. That's something I didn't even know...I thought they were PG-13 at the most.

Good question... infact, that may have had an effect on their box office receipts. Think about it. Would they have gotten even higher numbers had it of been PG because it would cater to a wider audience? Or would it have been worse because hardcore action stars wouldn't have bothered with something that only rated as PG?

May be because some people tool Matrix idea too close to their heart and started to try to fly from the roofes.
