Grrr..I hate people that are overly rude for no real reason

I just went across the road to the shops and on the way back at the crosswalk there was a very old and slow woman crossing at the lights. She crossed on the walk sign like she should but when it turned to don't walk she was still crossing but just about to the other side. The instant it turned red this butch guy in a massive dump truck sticks his head out of the window and yells at her 'get out of the road you little c*nt'. It was taking maybe 5 extra seconds out of his wait for her to safely get to the other side.

At times like that I wish there was a vapor ray or something that could be used to remove people from the human race.

TurboAngel 11-22-2006 06:32 AM

That was mean.

:(

Nightwind 11-22-2006 06:34 AM

That vapor ray would wipe out like 80% of the planet then. Which is fine by me.

I'm thinking more like 90%...

Let me know before this happens though so I can sell all my real estate and start renting before prices crash. :1orglaugh

What that guy said was overly rude, yes, and I'd agree that in an instant I'd think he was an asswipe. However, I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt in a lot of cases because I have NO idea what's happening in their life. Does it make being an asswipe excusable? No, but it can also make an outburst somewhat understandable.

I have had horrible things happen to me and I never called an innocent 80ish old woman a c*nt

AssPirate 11-22-2006 07:10 AM

Rude people are mostly those who don't know any better. I learned that the hard way. You can't be too kind to people most of the time.

bl4h 11-22-2006 07:14 AM

Ive been verbally assaulted by old woman on several occasions...

Props to you. I've never done it either. But for all I know that guy just lost his job 5 minutes ago and that was his release. Like I said, it doesn't make it excusable, but unless I know the guy is consistently a dick, I wouldn't judge the person in his entirety. Judge the act, sure. But saying he should be removed from the earth for THAT one act is just ridiculous.

You're judging those two people over a 10 second act you saw from afar. You have no idea who either of these people are. For all we know, that guy felt so bad he tried to drive back, apologize and offer her a ride home and she told him to fuck off. Who's to say he doesn't regularly donate his money and time to charity and the old woman regularly screams at all the little kids playing near her house to "Get the fuck out of here you little pricks." Maybe their entire personality dictates that SHE'S the one who you should use the vapour ray on.

Judging someone on their entire personality is one thing. Judging them on a 2 second "Slip of the tongue" is another imho.

NinjaSteve 11-22-2006 07:39 AM

so rude and mean!

reynold 11-22-2006 08:36 AM

You should've shouted on that retard as well. People should be reminded by their stupidity from time to time.

Which is exactly why you should always try to be polite and have good manners in public because you can only be judged on what they are like at that moment.

In theory sure. But I don't proclaim to be perfect and anyone that does is full of it. If someone were to judge me on ONE single incident, without knowing me or anything about me, that says more about that person than practically any outburst ever could.

he-fox 11-22-2006 09:41 AM

this world is going in the toilet.

please..there is a difference between maybe being a little rude and what that guy yelled

Drake 11-22-2006 09:46 AM

Sometimes people are just rude and other times they're aren't aware of what they're doing. For instance, the guy might not have been paying attention and at the last moment noticed somebody in the way, not realizing it was an old woman, he just blurted out some epithets to tell her to move. It's hard to tell what is going on sometimes.

For example, if a car in front of you swerves, you might think he's a lunatic driver, without realizing that he saw something on the road that you didn't (or maybe he thought he did). They call this the Fundamental Attribution Error - when we attribute intent/actions to somebody based on our perspective of the event rather than seeing and knowing it from theres.

E$_manager 11-22-2006 09:47 AM

People are impatient and nervouse, very rude. They all need to see a psychotrist. I sometimes think that i become like that too. Sometimes it is difficult for me to wait 5 seconds. But i will never be that rude - mean, because it is a matter of the way i was brought up.

I never said what he said was excusable.

For example, what Mel Gibson did, I find inexcusable because he went on to blame what he said on alcoholism. What Michael Richards did however, I would ACCEPT that one time BECAUSE he came out the next day and made a heartfelt apology without any excuses. If he was to do it again, no matter his response, I wouldn't accept it. Both did something wrong and we were able to see how they handled it.

The guy on the road clearly did something wrong, but neither I NOR you know how he handled it afterwards. If he went out and bragged to his friends about how he tore a strip off some old lady who was dawdling on the street, yeah, I'd say that he's an idiot. If he went home, settled down and GENUINELY felt bad about what he said, I'd write that off as ONE bad action.

sharp 11-22-2006 10:03 AM

what a dick.

Klen 11-22-2006 10:03 AM

Being rude is some people lifestyle. In most cases beacuse they leave alone.

So, if she was younger and just a bit slow it would be okay to yell that at her? Manners are lost.

Aan_Missy 11-22-2006 11:08 AM

Yeah, there was really and truly no excuse for what he did!
