Buying a car from Ebay

...would you? Under what circumstances? Anything special to pay attention to?

Also... when buying a car out-of-state, I assume I will have to pay the local state sales tax when registering the car, ey?

Thanks for your input.

What if you can score a good deal on a reliable car? All the carfax stuff checks out, and it's a dealer offering the car, anyway?

well im about to buy a car this week from ebay

BUT
i did some research.
The guys says he and his company is located in cali, and the car is located in japan(because I want a right hand drive car)
he says to give him the money and then they will put the car on a boat and send it to vancouver, and then to montreal by train..
but i googled the so call company he owns that he said on google, and i found his "companys" website...
i was bored and looked at the "who is" info and saw the guy was living in AUSTRALIA!!!
but you know what what if the guy lives in cali now?
then i miss out on a great deal..
so i will pay him the 5-6g's and pray i get the car...
if i dont?
well hey
good thing for this

i know my post really didnt help you but just make sure that the description of the car is PERFECT
everything is included. ask for the vin number and spend that 5$ to see a carfax report
if your car comes with a scratch on the bumper and he diddnt tell you about it, well then you can make the seller pay for the repaires

I'd send the car to a dealer to get checked out before I bid. It depends how good the deal is.

buying things over $10 on ebay makes me nervous, i would have a heart attack thinking about a car :)

when my wife took a job in Cali we bought a car from her on ebay. I did not send the guy any money. She paid when she picked it up... For the most part we got a good deal.

I bought a car on Ebay about 4 years ago. I got a cashier's check and flew to Florida to pick it up. I wouldn't send any money until you eyeball the car and the registration. I got a good car that I still have at a bargain (haven't driven it in a couple years)
