Is imitation really the most sincere form of flattery?

Maybe I just see it so much because it is my site in question, but can anyone else see "similarities" with these two sites?

same color scheme on the background, the picture layout is different enough - the fonts are different - even animated are different. The only similarity is the immediate color and background, which is no sin considering that all designs basically copy the background etc. but its what you do with the layout is what makes it truly unique.

Same niche, totally different design. :2 cents:

There are so many similar sites. You think it was done on purpose?

There is no question that an attempt to make the design unique was made; however, at the same time, it is fairly obvious that the site used the color schematic, and possibly even the exact same bg gif, to create the template.

That image alone draws a noticeable similarity. And considering the gif file is not necessary for the success of the site, one might draw the conclusion that it was intentional.

It isn't the same niche, but it has some strange similarities.

It could have been coincidental, not question about it. However, if that were a Weg site, I would ask our designers to pull down the background image.

Why?

Because I don't want webmasters or anyone to confuse the two sites. I know Hundies put in a lot of effort to brand it, so I can see the concern.

Just my two cents.

yeah seeing that one really made me believe that the design was, at least to a certain degree, derivative.

And Cory hit the nail on the head as to what concerns me about it. We have really tried to brand the hell out of our site (with success, too), so you could understand my wanting to protect that brand. Maybe someone with a skintraffic.com contact will send them this thread to see their stance on the situation?
