GFY Outages. Nothing to do with Jupiter Hosting, they don't run those servers
 

1st, I want to apologize for the outages this weekend.

I also wanted to clarify that it has nothing to do with Jupiter Hosting. We host at Jupiter, but they do not manage the servers for us. They don't even have admin access to the GFY servers. They are managed by Playboy IT.

Jupiter's been great and their bandwidth is second to none.

I gotta imagine its difficult to manage a board this busy. only so many ways to lay off the balancing.

Nah. It would be easy. They just don't put the resources they should into the site, and their tech team may be lacking in the optimization department. I've seen way more run with way less resources.

The playboy IT offices will be closed tomorrow afternoon while they bury the last bunch of gerbils and go out to buy RedBull to put in the water of the news ones.

Well I can imagine what the Play IT's are doing instead of managing the board lol

What about people from (mostly) European countries being unable to reach GFY (even when it's up)? (http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=678750). Had the same problem a couple of weeks ago: I was unable to reach GFY from Belgium (got 2 different ISP's) for about 2 days. (worked fine when I used a UK proxy). Routing problems on Jupiter Hosting's side? or does GFY block half the internet when there's a DDoS attack or something like that?

Thanks for note. Jupiter Hosting provided direct managed hosting support for GFY before the Playboy merger. I think we did a pretty good job. Now, a couple years later, I think we should undertake this effort again.

Here is my Pledge to GFY.

Jupiter Hosting will purchase all NEW hardware for GFY from the GROUND UP. We will purchase all software and supporting applications needed to run it.

Jupiter Hosting will rebuild GFY to its GLORY. We pledge this at NO COST to playboy, adult.com, and the GFY community. Yeah, no cost. Not a dime. :hitit

Let Jupiter take the reigns, and we will get this board flying faster than it ever was. Let us post the details every step of the build. Transparency has been the new theme these days, let's make that charge here. Watch a new GFY be built from the ground up.
