OK wtf Indian Cuisine!!
Ok, I had never eaten at a real Indian place until today at lunch. Can someone who is enlightened tell me what those little seeds are you get at the end of the meal. The ones that taste like licorice? They looked like caraway seeds with some sort of red shit on them.
I just grabbed a handful and chomped 'em on down. I figured it was the thing to do. Holy cow that was a bad idea.:( Anyway, wtf are those and for my future reference, do I chew em up? Do I suck on em and spit em out? Are they like...I dunno...after meal breath fresheners? |
Must be some kinda caraway as well, they use that for a lotta stuff, in their nan bread, in sauces, sakh aloo (the potato). But ive never had that with some red stuff.
Some indian spices are incredibly hot I know :/ |
cardamom pods? They flavour rice really well but if I bite into one on its own I have to get rid of the taste.
