I was still in College (eAST cOAST), just leaving Marketing Research Class.........(7 - 8:15 am)

I heard that a plane hit the first tower, when I got to the Student Center to watch CNN, the second plane hit....

Where were you?

I was sleeping. Slept all the way through it. My roommate woke me up after it was all over. Then I spent the rest of the day on GFY and watching the news.

TurboAngel 11-17-2006 09:18 AM

Driving into NYC, we had to turn around. It's a day I'll never forget. I had a pic for you but someone is fucking with me and my domain names.

:(

NickPapageorgio 11-17-2006 09:20 AM

I was actually running an excavator digging out a foundation. The jobsite super came over and said "You guys need to turn on the radio...a plane just hit some building in NYC."

We laughed about it for a few minutes thinking that it had been just a small plane or some crazy accident. We turned the radio on in my truck about 5 minutes before the second plane hit. At that point, me and my grading guy just kind of looked at each other. I think I said something like, "what the fuck is going on here man?"

We didn't do much work the rest of the day. I took off about 12 and went home and watched CNN the rest of the day.

The creepiest thing that day was not seeing any vapor trails in the sky from airplanes. First time in my life I had ever seen that being so close to a major airport and naval and army bases.

Sky was crystal clear that day too. Hardly a cloud in the sky in Norfolk.

Mediachick 11-17-2006 09:20 AM

My partner and I were driving down from the Laurentians to our office in MOntreal when his 72 y/old called saying there was a 'tower on fire in NYC'. Ofcourse he told her to go pop a couple of pills and stop saying stupid things... until he opened the car radio and heard the second plane has crashed in the second tower :(

At home, walking up to my grand parents place. I remember it was very sunny and my mom told me about the incident and I didn't really understand how big it was until several hours later.

_Richard_ 11-17-2006 10:29 AM

I was in bed all morning with my girlfriend. We heard a little bit of an airplance problem in NYC (we're in vancouver) but we had bigger issues to work out and never actually paid attention. I went to work around noon, with a big smile on my face, and started at the restaurant. Eventually, i got so sick of everyone being devasted that i asked some woman why she looks so upset. She screams at me about my being cheery when thousands of people are dead. Such a shock to find out that way

The imagery on the TV that morning when my girl woke me up... will never leave my head.

dennisthemenace 11-17-2006 01:25 PM

Initially in bed.

Phone rang after the first building got hit. Had to track the sister in-law down by phone as she was in the city that day.. Took quite a while but she was out of harms way. We were glued to the news stations for hours after that.

I was around me mates building a website when his missus came up shouting turn on the tv. That was just when another plane hit then I had to look away then looked back couldn't believe what I was seeing then we both stopped what we were doing and just sat there watching the tv for the next hour then I had to go and be with friends and family.

I was working at my first job out of College, an American Insurance Company in Toronto. Anyways, was lisening to Howard Stern and he was talking about it. I thought he was joking. Crazy day for sure

i was in school and nobody told us what was going on...

fuzebox 11-17-2006 04:02 PM

I was driving to work listening the radio, they announced the first plane hitting and I was like "wtf, that's not funny"... Parked, went into the office, but I was too embarassed for believing some radio joke to ask anyone. I sat down and typed "www.cnn.com" and the site wasn't loading, so I finally asked the guy in the next cube if he had heard anything unusual on the news and he was like "omg where the fuck have you been!"

cool1 11-17-2006 05:20 PM
