Ritual To 'Jinx' President

A voodoo ritual has been performed to jinx President George Bush during his trip to Indonesia.

Black magic practitioner Ki Gendeng Pamungkas slit the throat of a goat and a small snake and then stabbed a black crow in the chest during the ceremony.

He mixed their blood with spice and broccoli before drinking some of the potion and smearing some on his face.

"I don't hate Americans, but I don't like Bush," he said.

Pamungkas said the ritual would succeed as "the devil is with me today".

"I am doing voodoo, because other ritual would not work," he added.

Pamungkas believes spirits will possess Secret Service personnel guarding Mr Bush and leave them in a trance, leading them to falsely think the President was under attack.

This would cause chaos in Bogor Presidential Palace, where the US leader is scheduled to meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Monday.

Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim country but many still practice such rituals.
