That is a fantastic deal man compared to what they are going for right now. :thumbsup

mkx 11-16-2006 12:24 AM

Well when you have some contact me on ICQ, i have cash ready to be spent on 5 or more units. I'll ofcourse have a couple USA versions myself tomorrow but 2 units is not worth it for me to be reselling. I have several Japanese units arriving mid next week so if anyone is interested in buying one or 10 hit me up on ICQ and I can keep you posted. Real deal. When I say mid next week I mean it :)

I just stopped by circuit city to check the line out (it's a half block from my house). There were about 50-60 mexicans in line earlier this evening and now there are only a handfull of people. I asked one of the guys where everyone went and he said the manager came out at 10:00 and told people they only have 10 units for sale and told everyone but the first ten people in line to go home.

I camped out overnight for a 360 last year. That same store had 50-60 units on launch day and the line started forming about dinner time the day before they went on sale. There have been people sitting out there now for 3 days already...crazy shit!

mkx 11-16-2006 12:55 AM

Line up at walmart suposedly starts at noon here tomorrow? I am just wondering if there is a lineup to get into the lineup? They said no but i am sure people are going to be lining up for the line up anyways. where does the lineup usually start?

I went to a couple of walmarts where I live and all of the store managers told me that you 'line-up' @ the lawaway* department and at midnight they will start handing them out.

Really? I live in the shittiest state in the USA and the best buys have around 5 people each at them. Didn't see any at Walmarts yet, did see one guy at Target. He was huddled over a coleman portable propane heater. He looked sad. :(

mkx 11-16-2006 02:22 AM

lol, im in hickville LA right now (1 hour north). I should take some pictures, it's art :)

GreedyFridge 11-16-2006 02:24 AM

Our local Wal-Mart has had people camping out in the Photo Dept. since about 4:00 yesterday. That's gonna end up being like a 32 hour wait. To make it worse, it's a whole fucking family. Mother, father, uncle, and a few kids. Yeah, kids...sitting in a Wal-Mart...for 32 hours. WTF?

I'm guessing they are planning on rushing the Electronics dept. at Midnight tomorrow (today, whatever) and buying as many as they can. One problem...we live in Hickville...our Wal-Mart is only getting 4 of them. Yeah, there is going to be some really pissed off people.

mkx 11-16-2006 02:30 AM

Mines getting 20 and the family can flip those over for $5000, not a bad investment for 32 hours of sleeping in a store lol

mkx 11-16-2006 02:31 AM

If I had any friends here all 20 of them would be waiting outside right now lol

What's funny is my friend at Sony says they're going to flood Ebay with thousands of retail priced Buy it Now's.

Can't wait to see the looks on people's faces that get stuck with a stack of them.

NinjaSteve 11-16-2006 10:18 AM

rodney25 11-16-2006 11:35 AM

That will never happen. I'll bet any Sony employer or employee $50,000 :)

mkx 11-16-2006 07:45 PM

I am going to try to snag a couple american versions tonight, i'll see what I can do. But the Japs are in by Wednesday and there is no difference really other than the instructions from what I know. All systems are multilanguage settings

MaddCaz 11-16-2006 07:45 PM

ill fool with am version thanks

Rictor 11-16-2006 07:49 PM

I'd rather have the Japanese version than the U.S. version. It will play both U.S. and Japanese PS3 games and blu-ray movies, plus Japanese PS2 and PS1 games. It will not play U.S. PS2 or PS1 games, but I have a PS2 for that. Would be cool to be able to play PS2+PSX imports without an adaptor.

Even if that happened, they'd all be purchased by dealers in a matter of seconds and be back on Ebay for $3,000 within a couple hours. There's no way to stop people from selling these for a profit. Yes, a few of them might end up in collector's hands if Sony did that, but not many.

Yeah, same here, our Wal-Mart got 6 to. We live in a 2 college town and it shows becuase last night at 7pm I drove up to see what the line looked like and there was already 5 college kids up there. I hear that they're supposed to raincheck 4 more because in a ad flyer it stated each store would get 10.

An article regarding the Japanese PS3's...

Now that Japanese online auction sites have been flooded with PlayStation 3s, it appears that the laws of supply and demand have been called into duty. Of course, supply for the PlayStation 3 is still at an all-time high, but with a much greater pool of product to bid on, auction prices have dropped dramatically since launch day in Japan.

Thousands of PS3 consoles have hit Yahoo! Japan auctions, with some smart bidders grabbing machines for near-retail prices. The Associated Press reports that, "some had game software thrown in with the machine, selling near the retail price of about 60,000 yen (US$510; €400) for the more expensive model with a 60-gigabyte hard drive, and 50,000 yen (US$420; €330) for the cheaper model."

So if you want a cheaper alternative hit the Japanese sites...
