What is antipasto?
I can't figure it out.
It looks like a plate of odd bite-sized foods. Olives, etc. Any Italians? |

First base.. come on you know this!

It a dish served before the meal. Though it has taken a great turn in food culture.
Usually some assortments of cured meats, olives, roasted red peppers, and other finger foods. I often see marinated artichoke hearts, Prosciutto di Parma wrapped melon and or asparagus, some cheeses, maybe some basil, tomatoes, bruschetta etc. |
I'm italian! Antipasto is a delicious "salad" that you eat before the meal. Usually has salami, olives, cheeses, hot peppers.. oil/vinegar... there are several ways to make it. It's awesome with italian bread.

From what I know it's an appetizer consisting of pretty much what After Shock Media said, served before your entree. :2 cents:

The salad or "Il contorno" comes after the main dish. |

If you have antipasto
and then have pasta what happens? sounds like the ultimate diet combo |
It's the coalition of fruits, vegetables, and assorted meats and nuts against everything that pasta stands for.
They've recently joined forces with the "Viva la Spork" movement, and are looking to create a worldwide dinner takeover. |
its for people that hate pasta
lol |
pickled peppers, meats, cheese, crackers, anchovies, pickled artichoke hearts
fruits and nuts are after dinner |
