Is it just me, or is gfy becoming almost too slow to use?
 

I've had horrible connection times for the past month. To the point where i open 5 or 6 threads & just leave them for 2 minutes before i even bother looking.

Not having this issue with any other sites.

Whats the consensus?

Database error
The GFY Webmaster Board database has encountered a problem.

Yeah, I've been clicking a thread then opening another browser to surf while I wait for it to load. A while back they were having problems with Cox. Wonder if it is related or just overloaded?

I don't use cox...& I've even tried tunneling in with my boxs, all the same.

Its been slow, after opening and closing a couple of threads, it seems to slows right to a crawl.
whether I use 1 window or 3 makes no difference

The slowness here works well for me... when it starts lagging, I get back to work on backburner projects :)

Might be time to dump two or three fuckillion useless threads (which'd probably hardly make a dent, considering).

There is at least one thread a week about this.

Someone from adult.com will pipe in "working fine for me, must be your connection". Then TD will start a thread about a great new feature he's adding.

Features are cool and all, but I'd much rather have constant functionality.

this alexa paste says it all.. slower than 84% of the sites online.

there are huuuge forums, with 10-20x the posting frequency as GFY (and 1/10th the income) that move lightning fast. there's a site online if you search for forums list or something like that, that shows the top forums online.. lots are running vBulletin.

everyone here definitely knows about the first 2. they're very popular. the 3rd is a religious forum. nearly 67 million posts on over 150k members, seems to trump GFY :)

GFY is kinda slow.

The search function seems not working anymore. When i search in the entire post, i have a white screen with no results.

I guess when enough people start complaining and advertisers start pulling their banners then something might get done about it. Until then, looks like we are going to have to just deal with it :thumbsup
