Hawaii Might Get Wiped Out By Tsunami

What would happen if that Tsunami hit Hawaii a lot bigger than they are currently predicted?

Would the USA lose one of its states?

Discuss.

Regards,

Lee

The same thing that would happen to the West Coast of the US. We could lose half of Oregon & Washington too. I saw some show the other day saying that the Northern West Coast is far less prepared for one than Hawaii.

In Hawaii, we test our tsunami warning system once a month. ...not sure about the West coast.

It would be bad if Hawaii would disappear before i ever see it ...:(

I'm pretty sure this pic will give you an idea of the possible damage..

that is not some good news

Hawaii is America's floating naval base. It's not an island. It was built to serve America's interest in the far east. Please, don't confuse yourselves.

More scare mongering.

Nobody even spoke of Tsunamis untill the past few years...

Peaches 11-15-2006 12:18 PM

Lee, I will send you a plane ticket FedEx if you promise to get your lying, stealing piece of shit ass to wherever it's going to hit.

The US has warning buoys all over the place. They even knew the one was going hit about 12 hours before it hit a couple of years ago. Problem was communication.

umm don't get to cocky.. We could get wiped out here aswell in Daytona Beach. lol wouldn't take much to roll right over us and into the river.
:winkwink:

I hardly think any tsunami alone could wipe out the islands. Some infrastructure and stuff, yes, but not the rocks and off the map :1orglaugh

Fat Panda 11-15-2006 12:23 PM

the islands are safe

The Japanese did.

And then in 2002 before the 'biggie' there was a very large one in Papua New Guinea that nearly wiped out the island. Just because people didn't talk about them as much in the 'west' doesn't mean they haven't happened.

Heck, I am convinced that is what was being talked about in the story of Noah. It just became twisted to be a huge thing about god.

AMP will ride that wave

uh no that map is for a tsunami that originates from an earthquake in Hawaii. They are more worried about quakes in Alaska or Japan that will produce much bigger waves in Hawaii than a local quake would.

I agree... Never been but its defo on the list

Theo 11-15-2006 12:36 PM

creta island and civilization was almost entirely destroyed by a tsunami and it's not the only case. Atlantis although there are historical references about it, we don't have any actual evidences of its existence. I believe it existed myself.

Ever thought that there are a number of factors for this? ie global warming, temp and weather changes, the fact that populations are growing larger and inhabitating areas that are renowned for flooding and the likes...

Plus the fact that there was a huge Tsunami not so long ago that caused absolute mayhem. Then there is the US's piss poor reaction to disasters still fresh in everyones mind.

Might be a little scare mongering in there, but at the same time, hopefully scare tactics can create a proactive response rather than a *delayed* reactive.
