Input. What are your thoughts about the word "Young" used in a domain name & site

I notice several sites using the term "Young" in the domain name & site title.
Just wondering what your thoughts are on it.. Is this acceptable or is it frowned upon?

like youngteens.com, youngchicks.com, etc..

I've always stayed away from using the term when doing site descriptions, titles & domains, however, today checking stats I found a hit from a keyphrase search with the term "Young", & I checked it as a domain & it is available, so I was wondering about acceptability of the term within the industry..

I'm in the twink market, and I don't touch it with a, erm, 10 foot pole.

Think of what they're saying: "Young teens".

There's only 1 age that falls in the "teens" that's legal, and that's 18. "Young Teens" I think CLEARLY implies "younger than 18".

:2 cents:

some would include 19 there too, hehe.

Its what u put on your site that matters.

But of course some terms are inappropriate. It depends on the combination of words. Young is opposite of Old, but youngteens is not good :)
Most models in this industry are "young", so I can't see a general problem with it.

I think it's asking for trouble

I understand that completely. I guess it all boils down to the combination of terms, so, the example youngteens.com certainly would imply that, so maybe using this as an example isn't so good as the domain I was thinking of registering does contain the term young, but does not contain teen, teens, girls, boys, so, I am posting this to get a feel for animosity or acceptance of the term.. I don't want to acquire this domain if it is a frowned upon term.

I agree with others, it can be a matter of context.

"Young College Girls", "Young College Guys", things like that would pass the smell test I'd think.

Yeah I mean to say 18 and older, I'm having brain farts left and right tonight. :(

no one has ever got in trouble because of a domain name as far as i know it just depends on how paranoid you are nothing else.

Dagwolf 11-14-2006 08:04 PM

youngfatgoats.com might be available

it's a fine line.

youngladies.com or youngpornstars.com is much, MUCH different than younggirls.com

Depending on the choice you make you may find it difficult to get the name hosted. And of course programs and processors that have taboo terms that wouldn't accept the traffic regardless of how many "18+ only" warnings you have on the site.

RawAlex 11-14-2006 08:15 PM

Young milfs... young retired people... young college grads... it all depends on where you use it and how.

spacedog 11-14-2006 08:20 PM

what about something like hotyoungpussy.com

A 20 foot pole with me :winkwink:

The reason has nothing to do with laws, more that, eg youngteens.com, is pandering to a market which is dubious (what is a young teen? 13, 14, 15?)

marketsmart 11-14-2006 08:22 PM

you might be asking for trouble...
