You know, the guy who ADMITS STEALING Internet Eraser's site, copying it to his server, and pointing it to evidence eliminator.

I checked his 4 different IPs, all on totally different class C's, and guess who they match?

I don't think he was a spammer, but I haven't wasted my time trying to find out. It turns out he was changing people's homepages, if he was doing that with spam, I don't know. These things are hard to figure out, because rarely do the people who complain give you enough info to figure it out.

We have a bunch of opt-in guys promoting Internet Eraser, and one or two complaints don't instantly convict them as spammers. Hell, I get spam complaints when I email my own affiliates!

I'd have to agree with Lensman about this. Just this morning i got an e-mail from someone who theatened to post all over this very board that I harvested spammers. All he wanted me to do in return for not carrying out his threat was to cancel an account from an affilate I have been doing busines with for over a year and have never had a complaint about....ever.

We get complaints from our double-opt in list all the time...and these are people that have to go through 2 steps a few mintues apart to get our newsletter.

honestly dude,that was me that reported him to you...it is a spammer since it was sent to my aol account which is never used to signup for anything... and to catch spammers I put 3characters in my profile so when they do member directory searches they spam me... I suggest you term him ... no bullshit about it,its a spammer...no double opt-in came from that name

and I would have never posted that on a board but i recieved that same spam before and i have found that when you tell a program you plan to humiliate their operation they can the spammer... but if i get it again,please believe i will be putting it on the board :thumbsup

terminate someone's account by threatening a well respected program. i assume you provided ample proof?

forwarded the email with the header, IP,email body,URL,account code... good enough?

The e-mail you sent me is proof enough...providing you hadn't opt-ed in to anything with it.

Like i said i will be talking to him about this...i just find it strange that you are the only person that has complained about him. We keep a very tight handle on spam complaints and can people all the time for it. :)

18 states have anti spam laws on the books and more will follow along with federal laws that are in the works.

on a related topic - here's a scary thought: a spammer with a vendetta against you could send out some spam using your referral code, for the express reason of getting you terminated :) i remember hearing that sexymail may have done that to someone here....

Sexymail spammed under anyones name who fucked with him here, that was my initial beef with him, he even spammed his own sites with referral codes such as...

IP tracing can solve that in most cases... on the same note lol

yup - hypo was the guy who did the sleazydog logo.

One odd thing was he wanted the $500 prise sent directly to his host. Not a good sign of a stable businessman - but I accomidated him and did as he asked.

What can I say, I liked the logo and was happy to buy it from him.

I can verify that Hypo = Neole as he referred to himself as such in the email corrospondance we had.

Sad to see someone with soo much potential goto the dark side.
