The BMW M6

Has anyone bought one yet? I had been waiting for a while for them to be released, and now finally got around to test driving one. Lots of power and gadgets, but I cant say I am super impressed. It looks almost identical to a 645 with the M badge.

the m3 convertible looks better imho...plus you save like $40k... :)

tehHinjew 11-12-2006 06:30 PM

nice i like to see a bimmer fan here
if i was a hardcore baller, id get myself the m5
why?
because i love 4 doors... im not like the others...
2006 m5, you have 400hp, 6 speed manual, but then you can swich to //M mode which has 550hp and 7 speed manual.. now thats something to cum over

andrej_NDC 11-12-2006 06:30 PM

You mean the engine feels the same in 645 and M6? That can't be. The same look? Maybe, but the M models are about power. But you know that. :)

tehHinjew 11-12-2006 06:31 PM

oh and if i had to get a 2 seater it would be the m coupe because its fucking sexy !!

Yeah i was talking about the "look"

atleast with the m3, you can easily tell a lot of the differences from a normal 3 series BMW. I walked by an m6 today on the street, even after test driving one, and wrote the thing off on my mind as a 645, it wasnt until I was walking back, that I saw the M badge on it.

Furious_Male 11-12-2006 06:34 PM

I like the M5 myself (probably shows my age) but I am hearing about a lot of quality control issues. aka cars are spending a lot of time in the shop.

I am sure somewhere a manual one exists, just very very rare. The SMG on the M series is basicaly like driving manual without a clutch, it will roll backwards, scream if you shift wrong, jerk, the whole 9 yards.

The advantage is the computer can shift much faster than a human, so you can lay a beating on manual cars with the SMG

Yeah, if you get the M6 rims on a normal 6 series, both will look very similar. But you inside will feel the difference, so will people driving around you. :)

There are surely some out there, but I don't think BMW is officially producing them. Until some time, I thought I couldn't enjoy a sports car without the clutch, but with M5 or M6 I probably could. :)

Why does that remind me of Porshe 911 turbo whatever?

WiredGuy 11-12-2006 06:54 PM

Didn't Cambo put down a deposit to buy one when they first came out to Canada?
WG

starpimps 11-12-2006 06:58 PM

I think i remember hearing that too! I guess we will see pictures soon!

wedouglas 11-12-2006 07:10 PM

I actually like normal 645 better than the M. At $100K+, it's a tad pricey if you ask me. There is a black 645 with dark red interior down the street that is absolutely gorgeous.

wedouglas 11-12-2006 07:12 PM

For the price of an M6, I'd probably look at an Audi R8. Once they drop the v10 in it, I'm going to place my order.

greygoose 11-12-2006 07:33 PM

that looks wicked. i like the M5 quite a bit tho.

marketsmart 11-12-2006 09:22 PM

it looks like a nice car :thumbsup

emthree 11-12-2006 09:33 PM

After seeing an AW M6 Slammed with Wheels and Tints.
It converted me. They look amazing with a few minor mods.

my bad i ment 400 in regular mode and 500 not 550hp in m-mode
and its 6 gears in reg mode and 7 yes 7 in m-mode
the m5 is mainly comes in manual - but not stick... its SMG so it has no clutch at all, but its all up to you to shift, it wont shift by itself like tiptronic
and yes its paddle shift not stick

tony286 11-12-2006 10:32 PM

very sweet looking ride

X37375787 11-12-2006 11:26 PM

Absolutely mind-blowing ride. If you got the cash, I'd definitely go for it. Ever since I saw the TopGear review, I am helplessly hooked.

DaddyHalbucks 11-12-2006 11:29 PM

The M5 is super nice. Maybe I'll get one someday.

tehHinjew 11-12-2006 11:36 PM

the car im aiming for before i turn 21 is a 2003 bmw m5
tuns of saving going on

Gary_TLX 11-12-2006 11:37 PM

I like pretty much all the bimmers, but nothing beats the old E24 M6. It's my all time favorite out of all the cars BMW ever made. :)

GTS Mark 11-13-2006 12:49 AM

The M5 is a sick, sick ride, tons of power!

I am not a huge fan of the styling of the M6 or really any of the new beemers since they have all been "banglized".

For what they lack in styling they certainly make up for handling and power.

DH

Kimo 11-13-2006 01:36 AM

pimp ride

Okidoki 11-13-2006 01:45 AM

yo,
My partner has an m5. Drives mad...but he is considering to trade it in for another 5 series. The tank is like 60-70 litres, which is too small for the engine as it uses lots of gas (Lots....) per mile. So he is at the pump every day/ other day. Which gets kinda on his nerves ;-)

buy the bentley Gt, much sexier ;-)

marko13 11-13-2006 01:47 AM

m6 looks like crysler spitfire...

Howmuch i know bmw m3 cost 100000 euroes,i rather buy used lamborgini diablo which cost 80000 euroes.

s9ann0 11-13-2006 05:36 AM

I think the new M6 has the same engine as the M5 but its more expensive and fatter.. so I'd go for the M5 unless you just want a M6 to showoff

The Z4 M coupe is sexy
