Tivo Users: "Please Wait...This might take a minute..."

Do you ever see that pop up and think to yourself "dammit!"

we are rearranging our seasons passes and it has come up like 3 times now, each time like a 5-6 miinute wait...haha

annoying!

Tivo is probably the one piece technological growth that has changed my life the most in the past year (along with my ipod)...I'll wait the 5 min...lol

oh, I most definitely agree...I could not live without my tivo

in fact, in all seriousness, I would probably watch far less tv without it

we don't even touch our bedroom tv anymore because we have to watch commercials on it

Tivo needs an affiliate program that offers free in home trials for a month. After the month is over the customer either pays for the unit and subscription or sends it back. If they keep it you get paid.

If you could get people to sign up for a trial this would be the easiest sale ever.
The conversion ratio from trial to sale would be insane.

I couldn't live without Tivo for more than a day or two now and I hardly ever watch tv anymore.

IIRC, TiVo itself is actually losing money and always has. I have a DirecTV TiVo (I originally had the first one that ever came out where you had to basically use aluminum foil to make the TiVo "talk" to your cable/sat box) but when I bought one for DirecTV for my Dad recently, it was no longer TiVo.

Most cable companies have their own DVRs too.

Jace, I haven't opened it yet, but there's a thing you can buy that will send the remote signal from your bedroom to the TiVo through a wall. Got it at Frys.

well, the problem is the bedroom is up one floor and on the the other side of the house, so I would have to wire the tivo out of the box and through the walls across the house

and yeah, directv no longer uses tivo, but you can buy the tivo directv units still, just not through directv

and directv still supports tivo, and for $4.95 a month for a directv reciever with dual tuners and tivo, you can't beat it!

not to mention we now have XM Radio included with directv...WOOT!
