CMS Beta -- (PICS)

I have this beta of a CMS (gallery display system) that I have been working on in my off hours. I am looking for comments on it and anyone who would be interested.

members.casandrablue.com

There are some really great Pics in here but that is really not the point.

This is a very small working demo (24 sets) so I don't get killed in bandwidth by posting it here.

Please have a look and tell me what you think

User end seems friendly but alas that means next to nothing to webmasters. What are the nuts and bolts. What can it do, etc?

ArcherJanvier 11-12-2006 02:35 AM

Source code is in PHP5. Designed for the webmaster who has little time to fuck around with content.

The demo has 3 sizes but it will take any size images. I also have an integrated thumbnailer which will make the thumbs and sharpen them if needed.

I've worked with Mansion's MAS system and I really hated how you have to follow a particular format or name system to make it work.

This one can rename the files itself and make it work.

looks good...
can we see the admin area? (even screenshots?)

DutchTeenCash 11-12-2006 04:27 AM

ok its fast and nice - but what we need is the webmaster end, I wanna see how easy it is to add galleries, process them, add text, rotate, schedule

this is for surfers

Understood,

My partner keeps pushing me to post the Beta so we can get some feedback.
I must admit that I am a programmer and not a salesman.

If you shoot me an e-mail at: archer (at) janvierconsulting.com I will be happy to fill you in on all the gory details.

How did you do the thumbnailer?
Does it have crop tool or is it just a resizer?

ArcherJanvier 11-12-2006 11:13 AM

I wrote the thumbnailer in php5 with the GD graphics library.
It will also resize the large size images to any dimension.

I looked all over the web for a *nix based unsharp mask filter.
No such luck, so I had to write my own.

Sure beats the crap out of the old macro for PhotoShop.

But no crop tool?

Kimo 11-12-2006 12:06 PM

good shit

ArcherJanvier 11-12-2006 12:32 PM

But no crop tool?

Not at the moment. It can batch the originals to any desired size(s) even if the originals vary in dimensons.

I might consider adding a cropping feature later if there is enough of a demand. But I am trying to primarily serve content fast and easy without a whole lot of effort on the webmasters part.

Cropping really strikes me as more of the content producer's end than a CMS.
