I am hearing lots of good stuff about it....its going to be around a big bar and lots of networking....at Mandalay Bay this time and AFTER the video show....should be good....

Manowar 11-11-2006 01:43 PM

sounds like it will be a blast

Jace 11-11-2006 01:55 PM

word has it via some reliable sources that a few very large companies that always have booths have pulled out of buying booths at AVN Expo and Internext, the money spent just isn't worth it anymore

C H R I S 11-11-2006 03:15 PM

Actually the show floor is sold out - nobody has "pulled" booths from Internext. This show is going to be huge - with Lensman as the Keynote Speaker, completely updated seminar, workshop and classroom tracks, Porn Poker Tour, and a few more surprises to come - I think everyone will be very satisfied with Internext Version 2.0.

New Dates - No conflict with CES or AEE
Low Cost Hotels Rooms
Updated Educational Series
Special Keynote
Complimentary Brunch Everyday

Whatever the doubters may say, both Internext shows are the best attended shows all year.

Check it out and register early to save $$.

Chris is doing his job BUT he's speaking the truth. There's no puffery or bullshit. He's just stating facts ... so the comparison is a little off there Jace :winkwink:

Anyway, based on the "new program" AVN is trying to pull of, I think they can turn January back into a great show

I'm looking forward to it.

:2 cents:

amen brotha, preach on

just because booth space is sold out doesn't mean they haven't lost old timers that have bought booths for years and years

in this biz, there is always fresh blood for avn to grab money from, that is for sure

and jesus, I just checked out the website....how many shows do you think they can use the SAME freakin topics for workshops/seminars?

LOL...like a broken fucking record

how about something we haven't heard?

here are some ideas:
Marketing Your Affiliate Site
How to Recruit Super Affiliates
Mobile Phone Affiliate Marketing
Bloggers - The New Super Affiliates
Optimizing Landing Pages

these ideas were taken from another show, i am sure avn is creative enough to get their own ideas though

As many others are -

As some people dont take the time to actually read the whole description of the educational series on our site - and make incorrect conclusions. I want to set the record straight in case there is any confusion on the educational series, there are three tracks:

Seminars

Digital Licensing

Search Engine Secrets

Monetizing Domains

Classroom Sessions

Obscenity

Labeling and Record Keeping

Legal

Intensive Workshops

Newbie

Content

Metric and Analytical Marketing

Oh and don't forget about the Keynote address by Lensman.

What reliable source is that? There are only 3 10 x 10 booths available at AVN show and mostly all sold out at Internext?

Yeah, with 50% less booths than last year.

Cyndalie 11-12-2006 08:45 PM

We at AdultChamber.com have found booths a good way to generate new business at shows...people know when and where to come find you and it does create a presence. We have always exhibited at Internext and have no plans to change that anytime soon.

marketsmart 11-12-2006 08:46 PM

im not sure, thinking about it...

FreeHugeMovies 11-12-2006 08:54 PM

They got greedy and charged too much for booths. Scheduling bad times and allowing the hotels to rob us blind, why WOULD you get a booth? They should of given everyone a refund last year after it’s debacle

You Know ?? A show is what YOU as an attendee make it. NOTHING more NOTHING less.......... Having Booths is Just another way for companies to get in touch with their customer base. SIZE as you must have gathered by now, DOES NOT Matter. Shows are evolving Give this One A chance...........

YES, I will be there:pimp

And thats the show we are going to in 2007 $1000 bucks and it will worth every dime:)

jesse_adultdatingdollars 11-13-2006 02:01 AM

As long as the parties are fun, than the show will be fine. That’s where all the business takes place anyway.

Also just a thought there should be a $150 pass version if you don’t want to attend the seminars.

Im surprised that more companies arent passing on booths and grabbing hospitality suites. That seems like a mucher smarter idea.

Yea - union labor at conventions is VERY expensive. Plus, you have to rent the carpet or bring in the carpet yourself, which is a logistic nightmare, so you just end up renting it. Labor is per/hour no matter what they do, minimum of one hour at $70 - $90/hour. For our booth, it's about a 6 hour setup with 3 - 4 workers. Same for taking down. Porter fee for MOVING the booth. All those cool plasma TVs you see at booths? $500 - $700/week. Internet connection at your actual booth? $1200 for the week. (People at the EA booth will be using their Blackberry's and PDAs.) But if you're a website based company, you need an internet connection just to show your product
We've known for years that we don't get our 'money worth for business done' at the convention. It's not ONLY about that. It's about the fans as much as it is company image and media coverage.

That money is better spent elsewhere...plain and simple. I will miss seeing some of my friends that I only see once a year but but for what it costs I could fly em to mexico Beach and take em fishing for a week and still save money.
