DNS Issues
 
i'm having issues with my dns, for some reason even though i changed my dns last month, if i goto www.poorfuck.com it goes to my old host, but poorfuck.com goes to where its supposed to... any ideas how i fix this?

i did, also added the ip to my host file, i flushed my dns, daily for the last week, everything, other people have been getting it also...

sounds like your new host needs to add an A record in your DNS settings.

ya there local dns is probably not correct. just put in a ticket and they will sync it up.

uhm, im on an unmanaged dedicated server with just my site on it... i don't think my server provider will do this, so how do i go about it myself? im dumb with servers

do you have a control panel ...

you need to add to the httpd.conf file of apache that virtual server ( www.poo....).

If no anel, with ssh, you need to edit the file and add that record.

so, in whm, go to edit dns zone, select your domain.

Then add

www 14400 cname yourdomain.com.

That should get it to work in a few minutes or so ( restart bind as safety ).

I think what will only work if you remove it first, most likely it's the ns entry's in your dns zone that's off.
