Ross Perot screwing the people of California?

Another Texas crook to go along with the Enron family.

Remember this guy?
http://www.pe.com/imagesdaily/2002/04-12/perot-219.jpg

Check out this news story about how his company fucked over the state of California during the energy crisis last summer.

The full story is here, some quotes are below:http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/...in514772.shtml

(CBS) Last year's rolling blackouts and the collapse of the California energy market may have surprised the state's consumers, but the crisis was apparently no surprise to employees of Perot Systems, a company owned by former presidential candidate and Texas billionaire Ross Perot.

CBS News Correspondent Vince Gonzales reports California paid Perot Systems millions of dollars to help design its new deregulated energy market. But documents given to a state senate committee show the company and its consultants then turned around and told power companies how to beat the system it helped create.

According to company e-mails, Perot employees decided to peddle their knowledge, saying, "It should be fun and profitable.? Behind the state's back, they made presentations and sent letters to major energy companies. Enron was told, "Many holes in the system exist that could be used to deliver 'unexpected' profits."

Companies were shown several different ways to push up prices. For example, companies were told they could "have a 'sudden' outage of a big plant," so other plants could "make more money."

That's exactly what whistleblowers claim happened.

Enron got caught using a scheme to clog transmission lines that Perot Systems had pitched. Enron admitted no wrongdoing but paid $25,000.

State Sen. Joe Dunn says energy companies used almost every trick in Perot's power playbook.

Dunn compares Perot Systems to a crooked home security company. ?They went out and marketed the flaws in that security system to the burglars that were out there that ultimately committed the California heist.?

If true they should go to jail for a long time. And putting them in jail I don't think will solve the problem. It will make
me feel good thinking they are getting fucked in the ass though.

I can't remember all the shit I read about the California energy crisis last year, but I do remember as usually the state
did a screwed up job of it. In this state it's one thing after another. Some years ago I bided on some software job's
for the state. You can not believe the crazy shit those pin heads ask for... There are idiots complete idiots.

I would show my programmer the request for bids and he would tell me (after many requests) well NO way
could these other people be giving them this, so let's just sell them what we have, fuck'em. :321GFY

I would not do it. I did put some software in some of the cities and county's... What a fucking NIGHTMARE. And I
swear to god I have thought people how to use this software that could not speak english. But with some of the
cities, the people working in City Hall GIVE IT THE FUCK UP.

What am saying is this state Govt. is fucked up all the way down to the smallest city. And there are a lot of company's out there that give 'em what they want... A royal fucking...:2 cents:
It really is sad. It use to be years ago the city's and state could not get good people because the job's were not considered very good. Well those job's are considered good now day's.. So we are are stuck with the people hired years ago.

I don't know if it would actually clean this mess up to throw a few people, if convicted, in jail, even if for a short time, but I don't think it could hurt. I wonder if the fear of prison really would discourage the CEOs of some of these companies from scamming.

If you can throw some poor sucka in jail for smoking pot, why not throw someone in jail for running a scam to rip off hundreds of millions of dollars? The problem is that poor pot smokers don't donate hundreds of millions of dollars to the big political parties in this country. The other crooks do.

*shrug*

california deserves a good fuckover now and then .. ;-)

we've been fucked over by you ever day now for the last 25 years.

do you realize that we're paying 6 times more for our power now than we were 24 months ago because of your energy consumption?

Expect this to go on until your judges do throw someone in jail. No wonder the US stock market is crashing. In a bad economy this will only make it worse.

Guy robs a 7/11 of $10 he can do time. These guys get a golden handshake after bleeding everyone dry.:BangBang:

TaDoW 07-11-2002 10:11 AM

Okay, rereading it ...

Perot is a fucker .. sounds like he didn't help the situation any ..

maybe there's a way we can get perot to pay each state a few billion so we can go back to our old ways.

jail isn't the answer...

look at these Enron cocksuckers...they'll maybe do a efw years in jail and when they get out they will still have a couple mills in the bank....
the answer is to freeze their assets and take their shit

if I'm udner investigation for defrauding a fucking websurfer, my assets would be frozen and I'd be fucked until things got sorted out...yet when some fuckface like this does it, it goes almost unpunished....

fuck jail, hit them where it hurts: the pocketbook

Enchantress 07-11-2002 12:41 PM

If I go down the street and con an old lady out of fifty bucks I'd go to jail. These guys con millions of people out of millions of dollars, and nothing happens. They should be jailed, and their assests should be used to reimburse the victims of their scams.
