DateDoc 11-09-2006 01:30 PM

That is pretty blatant. I hope Dating Gold does something about it.

Pleasurepays 11-09-2006 01:31 PM

Lars was "forced" to do it. Thats his story. He's sticking to it.

i expect a shift to the "rogue affiliate" defense anytime now just for a change.

natas 11-09-2006 01:33 PM

getting in here.....

Tuga 11-09-2006 01:33 PM

That's just Lars having a laugh :)

I really do to. I would love to see one sponsor actually step up and take action instead of saying we dont support it bla bla. I have been in contact with several sponsors last few weeks who said they were not gonna tolerate this shit. Just a matter of time to see who is gonna actually do something.

Zuss 11-09-2006 01:39 PM

Yep, he was forced to bid on datinggold terms, because they're doing the same to AFF...err...wait a sec!

Furious_Male 11-09-2006 01:40 PM

What happens when you try to go to one of the dating gold sites like amateurmatch.com?

King of Queens 11-09-2006 02:12 PM

zango needs more heat

where are the good press release writing people at

after the fine more stories would be picked up easily

myspace always makes the news & they are using it for more installs

I'm sure if people felt unsafe to use myspace they would get involved

Yeap he is doing it to Clickcash.com as well, which gets NO surfer traffic so there is no point in them doing it other then spite.

Which is fine, I log in to clickcash to check my stats, i see an AFF or Cams popup, it pisses me off, I go to GFY and make another post about AFF and Zango.

Way to help keep the issue going Lars, you are making sure I will never forget about this.

Tuga 11-10-2006 07:11 PM

will, do you need help uninstalling zango from your pc? :1orglaugh

no thanks :) I am going to be zango's longest member, generating thousands of popups for sponsors like AFF that they will never make a penny off of.

hydro 11-10-2006 07:57 PM

Thats a pretty lame site to bid on since its 99% webmasters. Zango could actually be taken down easily, all that has to be done is have a bunch of people email the big religous groups and say this software got installed on your computer and is now showing your kids *gasp* PORNOGRAPHY! Then just tell them to talk to the government, send in complaints to the state etc etc. Its a lame way to deal with spyware but then again spyware isn't exactly 100% truthful and no doubt that spyware companies target kids with these games, emoticons, and smileys they package with their spyware.

MaddCaz 11-10-2006 07:57 PM

wow no Zango love

I thnk that is the best idea yet.

Mr Pheer 11-10-2006 08:31 PM

does AFF get charged for every zango popup? I mean how does zango charge them? does the surfer have to click in the window before they get charged for the popup?

I am not 100% sure, but pretty confident that they are charged for eact time the zango window pops up on the zango user's pc.

Like the other day when I was surfing ifriends looking for some new content I most have had about 8 - 10 zango ads pop up, most of which were cams.com, some sexsearch, a few others. So i just made zango about .30 and I wasted the sponsors money.

If all webmasters installed zango it sure as hell would make the sponsors like AFF profit shrink a lot if they were wasting a lot of popups on us. :2 cents:

Myst 11-10-2006 08:42 PM

lol
look at the URL too - theyre not just targetting broad 'cam' traffic, they are blatantly stealing traffic from datinggold

Zango traffic is PPC traffic. min bids start at .015 per click. they allow you to bid on URL's and keywords.

pussyluver 11-10-2006 08:58 PM

So are your DG conversions in the crapper over this or is zango only hitting a small percentage of traffic.

fetishblog 11-10-2006 09:00 PM

I'm going to quit sending traffic to AFF and their other sites.

Why don't you remove zango from your PC?

I'm seriously considering doing the same. AFF is my main sponsor, but this is just total bullshit.

There is nothing to click?! the window pops up. Where do you click anything.

Then I would be out the loop. Remove it? I need to install more spyware on my pc to see what the other scumware programs are up to and who are using them.

OzMan 11-10-2006 11:46 PM

Apparently it is a free for all as regards keywords on Zango. They will accept anything from anybody if the price is right :Oh crap

As has been said before, if AFF won't sue for trademark infringement or whatever it's called then someone else needs to step up.

Has any sponsor actually asked/pressured Zango to not allow bids on their sites? That should be an easier short term solution until Zango is outlawed.

btw I finally gave in and installed Zango on an old PC. How often do you get pops?

On my first two urls I got an adultcash.com site pop when attempting to go to datinggold.com and an iFriends.com pop when going to iFriends.com

i see what you mean. i spoke too soon. to be honest, i dont know how that works exactly.

i emailed you a snapshot of a random sample of bids on URL's.

you can see that for Passion.com there is about 20 people bidding on it. adultfriendfinder.com has about 15... and most big adult URL's have people bidding on them... even thehun.net has a couple. so Lars is "forced" to be one of 20 people bidding on passion.com to "protect" their domain. 3 people bidding on datinggold.com

his whole " I am forced " defense is the biggest crock of shit I have ever heard.

Like you said, several other people bidding on it. When I go to a cams.com page and I get zango, it is not AFF everytime, sometimes it is sex search, etc.. so that just proves what you are saying.

What makes his bullshit even less believable is why are they targeting other sites that are not targeting them. I have seen sites like bdsmextreme targeted by ALT. SO who is forcing you to try to target several other sites?

Makes no fucking sense. Some people are so fake. What an asshole.

Sometimes I will get up to 10 in a couple minutes, depends on the site.

I am glad you installed it. Go to cams.com, adultfriendfinder.com sexsearch.com its like WWIII between a few of these companies and I guess they don't give a shit who they hurt while they try to kill each other.

Seeing with your own eyes is believing. Keep in mind, there are well over 20 million people (mainly in the US) that are seeing these sites the same way you are.

BTW. Google Gator Spyware and you will come across a few cases exactly the same as what zango is doing. AFF would win the case and protect all of their urls. I bet anything zango would settle, there is precident for sponsors sueing over this.

AFF could fix this easy. Don't buy LAr's it too expensive, cost millions to defend, not worth it arguement. It is bullshit.

That's the part I don't get and for which the "protecting our sites" reasoning isn't valid.

This whole thing would be solved by Zango not allowing bids on urls but since that would drop their income by 95% probably, the chances of them doing that are about the same of them having an installation warning that says "Are you really sure you want this crap on your computer?"

L-Pink 11-11-2006 12:48 AM

Everyone must use Zango!

Apparently AOL is bidding on sexsearch.com what a fucking joke.. a "porn video" tab in the Zango toolbar leads to videos.aol.com :error

Every defense Lar's has thrown out has been bullshit.
- Protecting our sites. (then why target so many other sites)
- Doing this because we have our affiliates bst interest in mind (:upsidedow this one needs no explanation)
- If we don't do it someone else will (not if you sue Zango and protect your trademarks)
- It's just a pop up (no, its not)
- It is only a small amount of traffic less then 1% ( so then why do it ??? )

The shit goes on and one. When someone makes soo many excuses it tells me they are full of shit and they don't want to stop doing it. Old sales trick, when someone says " no i don't want to buy it, I can't afford it" and you respond, well what if I could give it to you for a price you could afford, and then they say " well I would have to speak to my husband", ok well what if he said he was ok with buying it" well, I don;t like that color, "what if we got the color you did like" , etc.... when you take an excuse away and they keep making new ones over and over, they don't want it (or in the case of AFF, they don't want to stop).

AOL videos was the #1 adword for cams I think, last time i checked. If it wasn't cams it was one of the big "adult terms" they were bidding on on google. I don't understand it.

Not necessarily. If you read this you'll see how zango does installs. Probably similar to that aol video I would imagine.

the http://www.sbrjmp.com site comes up almost as much as AFF/Cams does.

Usually I see 18oncam being advertised from that url, does sexbankroll own that site as well ?

I see sexbankroll advertising here do they post here ?

polle54 11-11-2006 04:53 PM

Will

I have an idea

Make a hitbot that does the following.

1. Write all adresses that AFF bids on, one after one in a ring.
2. setup a server that runs this constantly

I don't know how technically to do this but it can't be that hard.
if you can make 100k hits a day he must be losing some money on this.

Yeah I was gonna say the same. You'd need a lot of proxies though since they do use 24 hour uniques I believe.
