How do I take a soild color image and make it fade like this

I only use fireworks for graphic editing, is there another program that does this? thanks

You can do it in Photoshop faster then you can say my name. :thumbsup

Um... You mean "how do I make a gradient"? Personally, I'd use the gradient tool. I am sure whatever program you use has one. Did I somehow misunderstand the question? It's the kind of thing that anyone who would be doing graphics would already know, so I assume so somehow.

Use the gradient tool in fireworks, I think it is grouped with the paintbucket tool.
