If you wanted to buy 20 laptops. Where would you go?

Serious question...

Sosa 11-07-2006 12:23 PM

Probably Dell. If you are buying 20 of them I don't expect them to be very powerful to spend the extra $1000 etc for a laptop from powernotebook.com I'm going on year three with my Sager and absolutely love it.

MyNameIsNobody 11-07-2006 12:24 PM

My first choise/thought would be dell but I think I would look around for something else to get more for my money.

Aquarius 11-07-2006 12:29 PM

I'd go with Dell.

wdsguy 11-07-2006 12:30 PM

The guy that gets them when they "fall off the truck".

Psycho_x 11-07-2006 12:33 PM

Dell.Without a question.I have had a few different kinds and with dell you definately get more for your money

LukieD 11-07-2006 12:36 PM

yeh except dell support sucks so if anything ever goes wrong you're screwed.

Stallion 11-07-2006 12:38 PM

call em up, you might get a better deal if you order bulk.

Kimo 11-07-2006 12:41 PM

id call up lil ray ray and ask him to keep his eye out for laptops falling off of trucks

donkevlar 11-07-2006 12:59 PM

I'm gonna say go with rayray on this one. Either that or find a shady chinese online store. Most likely one that sells 'nikes' and has ps3's already. And FAPE hoodies.

scottybuzz 11-07-2006 01:04 PM

my guess would be to find a local merchant, not a big company. local merchants would be glad of a huge order and would without a doubt give u a huge discount.

Jace 11-07-2006 01:05 PM

those ones from walmart for $398 have a 15 limit, you can just go in again and buy 5 more

Tom_PM 11-07-2006 01:06 PM

Yeah definitely call them up for that quantity discount.

:1orglaugh specs?! I needed to pick up a new computer for my girl this week... $400 is a steal even if it's a piece of shit.

EBORG9 11-07-2006 01:08 PM

If you have one in your area, FRY's Electronics. I'm pretty sure they have a business account thing going. They have the best prices of anywhere I have shopped.
Other than that, definitely Dell. Although Gateway is trying to make a comeback, see if you can get a bulk deal there.

Tom_PM 11-07-2006 01:09 PM

The Walmart one was limit 1 last Sunday, and someone I know got there at 6am and there was a line. She got #11 of the 30 they had for the sale, lol.

FreeHugeMovies 11-07-2006 01:11 PM

Call dell and tell them you want the best deal possible.

4Man 11-07-2006 02:01 PM

To some computer shop i gues.

StickyGreen 11-07-2006 08:07 PM

my wholesaler...

NemesiS876 11-07-2006 08:12 PM

Just HP nothing else

BitAudioVideo 11-07-2006 08:37 PM

did i wake up in an alternate universe where dell wasn't a complete piece of shit?

its hard to answer your question really... you want 20 CHEAP laptops or 20 GOOD laptops.

you want 20 laptops in the 400-800 range or 20 laptops in the 2000-3000 range?

ohtechwiz 11-07-2006 08:39 PM

I get all my stuff from Northwest Computer. They use all certified stuff and are local to me in WA. All there notebooks have atleast a two year warranty built in. Their phone # is 800-735-3410. They are not the cheapest but they have been the best for me.

Slick 11-07-2006 08:52 PM

I agree with the others, definateyl go with Dell. The bad thing about finding a cheap laptop at a retail store is the fact that they really skim on the specs, I'd be willing to bet that the $398 systems from Wal-Mart only had 512 megs of ram which it dedicates some of that for video. At least with Dell you could jump that up to 1-gig to at least have it hold ya over for a little while.

phasic 11-07-2006 08:56 PM

Dell. (adding characters for the minimum post)

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-07-2006 08:56 PM

Antonio 11-07-2006 09:09 PM

serious reply - why the fuck do you need 20 LAPTOPS???

always go for the desktop, can't remember how many of my friends I convinced not to buy laptops .......... unless you're planing on having 20 employees working from the beach

I have 7 PCs and 0 laptops, will probably buy another 10 PCs in the next 2-3 months (after I move to Bulgaria)

squishypimple 11-07-2006 09:35 PM

Wow, that's a lot!

marketsmart 11-07-2006 09:37 PM

get all toshibas :thumbsup

ungratefulninja 11-07-2006 09:42 PM

I'm posting from a Toshiba, it's been good to me.

Best Buy stores are starting to have a business department (Best Buy For Biz) that does discounting for volume purchases. You could see if your local store has one, or they do have a 1-800 number.
