Time to panic?

teksonline 11-07-2006 02:02 AM

just hold your butt cheeks tighter

marketsmart 11-07-2006 02:02 AM

no need to panic...yet anyways...

jasonir 11-07-2006 02:02 AM

I would never have believed that things were not the same as they were 400000 years ago if you had not posted that.

notabook 11-07-2006 02:03 AM

Eh, it's all good, no need to panic. Unless there is, in that case go ahead and panic.

GetBigCash 11-07-2006 02:43 AM

Don't worry, it's from all the Termite farts lately.

LiveDose 11-07-2006 02:45 AM

As long as nothing happens for the next 30 or 40 years.

woj 11-07-2006 02:56 AM

no need to panic yet...

k0nr4d 11-07-2006 03:23 AM

didn't know they had equipment to accurately measure carbon monoxide levels 400,000 years ago

marko13 11-07-2006 03:33 AM

it is right time to panic unless we want to live in glass garden and breath artificial oxygene...

Lazonby 11-07-2006 03:38 AM

Just as last year, the strong hurricane season was touted as evidence of global warming and how evil Bush is, etc, does that mean that because there wasn't a strong hurricane season this year that global warming isn't such a threat and Bush isn't quite as evil as we had thought?

The lunatics have been very quiet on this topic. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.

Well see long long ago we as humans developed things called drills. We then figured out we could get cores and also drill really deep. Very useful for finding oil and stuff. Well then some smart people went way way up north and some way way down south and started taking deep core samples of the ice. See each year some new ice is formed and it contains environmental information in it. They can tell what years volcanoes went off and even which one did. It answered many questions to the smart people.

It was predicted to be a strong year. Notice word predicted?
Shit happens, hate to say it and well other crap causes changes in patterns. It is not like Einstein's theory on everything paned out. Quantum physics are a bitch.

Though I guess the other odd ball shit that hit the fan this year was "normal".

fallenmuffin 11-07-2006 03:47 AM

Not yet but soon

RSS 11-07-2006 03:47 AM

no panic

rodney25 11-07-2006 07:03 AM

I guess so. A slight change on earth's temperature might already trigger major climatic change..

reynold 11-07-2006 09:08 AM

No worries. I am close to finishing my floating house this year, in case polar ice caps started melting..

Aquarius 11-07-2006 09:09 AM

The sky is falling.

I think what they do is take artifacts from that long ago and can measure using that.. apparently, they can also tell where magnetic north is from years ago from pottery. Pottery after being fired becomes magnetic.. apparently the magnetic north changes every 100k years or so

Yup, but here is my take on it:

What removed carbon dioxide from the air? Answer: Greenery. Basically, plants are a CO2 to O2 conversion system at work.

Global warming from what I can see is the balancing of the system to produce more rain to grow more plants to get more greenery so that the co2 levels can drop so the temp can drop so that the water can go down and so on.

The current issue has more to do with the deforestation of the world, the death of the rain forests, and the lack of viable vegitation in many cities around the world. Add more green, and things would get back to normal in probably less than a lifetime.
