crontab
heyyy.. i use crontab and wget to read my .php file and dump it to a htm file to reduce system load, but occasionally i get just a white screen when i go to my site and it doesnt go back to my page until the next crontab update...
anyone got a better way, of making sure crontab doesnt fuck my site up? cheers for any help all you unixxy webmasters... |
Without knowing exactly what you are doing, my only suggestion would be to write a script that would check to see if the site had been updated and have cron execute it right after the update script executes. I had to do something similar on one of my sites.

I know exactly what your doing, did many cache systems the same way. What you need is to make better error handling, create a script to check the file to make sure the output is completele right after the execution of the update, if its not, make it run the update script again
