When recip links to the TGP are optional, what difference does it make whether galleries are FHGs or hosted on the affiliates server?

Any TGP owners, opinions would be much appreciated!

if im going to list free hosted sponsor galleries, why would i want your affiliate ID on them? what value are you bringing to the table?

not just that but the content is the same..if you accept fhgs then you'll spend hours trawling through the same galleries submitted by different people

Both good points and I totally get them both. But I can download the same content and put it on my server with a different template and it will be accepted. And its the same content!

thats what the majority of submitters do ;)

Just make a TGP and do that, accept hosted galleries submissions.

..and they will have the generally crappy ratios that fhgs get. Its not that hard to hit up a sponsor and get some unique pics and make your own gallery!

The quality of galleries created by an affiliate is in most cases way better than the galleries offered by the sponsor. Nastydollars is a good example, their hosted galleries look like garbage but affiliates can create great looking galleries by using the content offered by nastydollars.

On the other hand there are many good programs out there that have decent FHG's so both options have positive and negative sides.

Thanks for everyone that has posted here, I was having an internal battle with myself over this one.

It seems to me that the TGPs are forcing the submitters to make an investment in terms of bandwidth otherwise every surfer would be an affiliate. This is fair enough aswell.

Reciprocal shouldn't be optional unless something else is negotiated. That's all we get damn, should be more. :1orglaugh

affiliate server hosted galleries are FHG...unless you mean hosted galleries created by the submitter

it makes no difference if the gallery recips back to the tgp are optional to a webmaster if they are using FHG from THEIR sponsor.. now if someone were to submit a gallery hosted by a sponsor (a FHG with their refcode instead of the webmasters) that's just lazy.. In which case you don't deserve to be submitting at all :) however if you personally made the gallery yourself (design, etc.) then it's a different story (hosting provided by the sponsor or one you paid for makes no difference)

most of the time FHG's have a bad content / advertising ratio -- that's why submissions with more content than advertising are favoured.. it keeps the surfers happy

? You don't have a clue how they work do you? You need to start reading tutorials about tgp's, how they work etc....

FHGs are usually the worst converting gals

pretty simple really, we can get the FHG's, we accept submissions to get new and different galleries for our surfers, we already put those in there to generate money for us, we're not running a tgp to make money for other people. Having submissions gives to our surfers galleries that they haven't seen before, better productivity
