Photographers! Need your advise!

This is the link to the shop in which my husband wants to buy the camera.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...=317351&is=REG

My questions are: Is this camera worth of trying?
and: Is this shop a relliable one?

Thank you on advance.

yes the fuji pro series are terrific budget cameras IF you already have nikon lenses.

excellent for web work because of beautiful saturated color akin to fuji film.

the japanese color film maker fuji captured the pro market in the 70's and 80's by introducing color film that had more punchy, pleasing color than kodak.

the fuji camera gives this same sort of punchy saturated color which is very appealing.

and the camera has a small technical advantage especially if you are making prints because it has a very long tonal range that avoids hot spots and also gives shadow detail.

it is not the highest resolution camera, but may be one of the best bangs for the buck for web work.

it is a sleeper camera, and has some superior technology.

if you do not have lenses yet, and you are interested in maybe becoming a serious shooter i would buy canon.

in most all areas canon is now the camera of choice for pros.

yes BH is probably the MOST reliable of photo dealers, i've used them for 15 years.

calumetphoto.com is also reliable.

Thank you very much! I'm glad the shop is reliable.
When you say - sleeper camera - what does it mean? Is it slow?

munki 11-04-2006 07:19 PM

BH is one of the best resources out there for video and photog equiment.

LiveDose 11-04-2006 07:27 PM

BH is the only place where we buy camera & video equipment.

i like it

That price is without the lens,
For that kind of money I would look at the
Canon EOS 20D, 8.2 Megapixel, SLR, Digital Camera with Canon 18-55mm Lens $ 1,049.95
with Canon EF-S 17-85mm $ 1,579.95

not sure about that camera. i can however recommend the canon 20d. we have it and it is remarkable.
i know that bhphoto is EXCELLENT. we buy lots of stuff from them.

We tryed Canon d20 but didn't like it with the kit objective. Of course it is all about the lenses, but i feel prejudice about Canon.
Besides, this Fuji camera is prof for a nice price and if we wouldn't like it we can change it to Nikon and use the same objectives that we have.

Fuji is a fine product.. I bought a FUJI FINEPIX 6900, and STILL use it today as the quality is amazing and its very small, portable and relatively quick. Only when it dies will I buy another :D Yuo MIGHT not like the smaller size of it, some people prefer an SLR frame not a miniversion
