Copyright violation?
 

Hi,
My mother language is french. I would like to start translating blog posts & articles that is in my niche, from popular english sites, then post the french version on my site.

Would this be copyright violation, if I give credits to the original article in my translated one?

You can give all the credit in the world but if you didn't have the right to republish the material in the first place, you'd still be liable.

The situation you mentioned is covered by the "derivative works" prohibition of US copyright law.

I dont know. I'd imagine youd have to get the original owners permission before you did anything
