What do you think the odds are of this idea backfiring?

I can almost guarantee these shirts will be sold in stores...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A Delaware judge on Friday ordered a man who twice exposed himself to a 10-year-old girl at his workplace to wear a T-shirt with the words: "I am a registered sex offender" in bold letters, a prosecutor said.

Make the t-shirts say "I am a convicted pedo" instead and it may work.

fallenmuffin 11-04-2006 01:53 AM

That's not going to work.. people are just going to think he has a sick modern sense of humor.

Sex offender sounds like a shirt someone might wear to a club, it should say child molester.

I think he meant it probably would not be ethical to sell t-shirts like that in stores for people to buy and wear to clubs etc.

So a t-shirt like this, is any better?

I am not saying it would be right, I just saying I know it will become a t-shirt that people can buy.

this one is awful!

Stupid shirt, it should say, if anything, that he's a child molester. As others have already pointed out it sounds too much like modern humor and wouldn't get a second stare... and just how the fuck is the shirt going to stop him from exposing himself? Does it come with some kind of magical built-in censoring technology? As soon as he exposes himself it automatically blurs it out? Ugh...

To tell you the truth I kind of like these alternative punishments judges are starting to dole out. I don't necessarily agree with each and every one, nobody will, but I think its an interesting approach and worth a try. "Rehabilitation" hasn't exactly been showing great results.
