xbox 360 core vs 360 premium - worth the extra price?

Gonna buy one tonight... worth the price for the upgrade?

Yeah, definately get the premium, first off, you get the hard drive with it, which is pretty much essential if you want to save games or download anything from the net (It costs $100 to buy a hard drive to add to the core). ALSO with the Premium, you get a wireless controller rather than a corded controller in the core package.

Buy the core. M$ will be releasing a 100GB drive for the 360 sometime in 1Q of 2007. :thumbsup

That's true, HOWEVER, you're gonna have to wait that long to save any of your games (unless you buy a memory card) and you can't download any content via Xbox Live.

99% of that content on Xbox Live can be found on your PC like the trailers and videos and crap like that. And of the remaining 1%, 99.99% of those Xbox Live Arcade games, suck and aren't worth the money. =)

You can't download 360 game demos on your PC. These things can be up to a GB or more so they are unusable on the memory cards.

Definitely buy the premium version now. There's a reason they call the core version the "tard" pack.

The hard drive, wireless headset, wireless controller, hi-def cables... these are all things you are going to have to buy anyway, so get them in the premium and you'll save tons of cash over going with the tard pack.

get a VGA cable while you're at it. I have my 360 hooked up to my right monitor (i run dual 21" widescreens) and i just flip the channel button on it and play xbox, on my right screen and still have stats and shit on my left screen.

And the 360 looks awesome at 1920 * whatever resolution

Maybe, but people are still going to pay $1400+ for it on eBay so for me it's going to rock... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I personally don't think so, not in europe atleast. When finland is concerned the timing in march is pretty damn good. Why? Analag TV transmissions are ending in august 2007, people still don't have digital TV's.. getting a new tv AND hdtv-console (ps3) seems like a logical thing to do. That's what I plan to do. :)

Never liked xbox, and xbox360 hasn't impressed me the few times I've played it.

Get the premium, my roomate bought a core and bought all the pieces to bring it to same status as a premium and it cost him about 200 more then just buying a premium

Waveu6410 11-04-2006 07:08 AM

Playing Xbox is something I used to do when I was younger and had nothing better to do. :)

Turf 11-04-2006 07:33 AM

premium all the way dude...

looking forward to seeing how MS will fix the people with 20gb HDs that want to upgrade to 100gb... they must be ready for that to happen just wandering how they will deal with it..
