hopeful but not final... I wonder how long they have to make the changes and if existing installs will be "updated" or it just applies to new stuff. :) |
Nice :thumbsup

We shall see.. maybe I'll get more of my own sales now, bastards. :321GFY

Nothing gonna change one way or another.
gotta love how they pass the blame onto their affiliates
It won't stop it the only thing that will stop it is getting people to stop using it. Everyone knows how to stop it.
they'll change their name and come back in a year as someone else

there goes the arguement for "legit installs"
Zango's principals--co-founders Keith Smith and Daniel Todd--must pay $3 million to cover illegally obtained profits. Duke |
They have 1-2 % of all internet advertising revenue stolen and they only paid 3 millions ? They are laughing all the way to the bank
Only 3 million.. that's good news for them. I agree with Doctor Dre..
You can read the whole thing here, in pdf format
http://www.ftc.gov/os/caselist/05231...gree061103.pdf The good thing about this is that it is now on official record that zango has done illegal installs, whether directly or indirectly, and proven guilty. Beware to all affiliates who still get paid by zango for driveby downloads... Zango never goes down alone... remember that it's always someone else's fault. Missie |

That sounds like spyware to me, but I thought Zango wasn't spyware. They must now includea feature that allows customers to uninstall the software easily? What are they talking about? Many people here have said if you don't want zango on your computer "just uninstall it". This can't be right. :helpme |
$3 mill is NOTHING compared to the profit thay have made
"must pay $3 million to cover illegally obtained profits"
Hundreds of millions in illegally obtained profit... and they only have to pay 3 million. Awesome. Great. Fan-fucking-tastic. Way to send the message to other companies that it's ok to fuck over anyone you want, you'll just have to pay a small fine in the end. |
im wondering if this will change anything...
they got off pretty easy...to be fair if I was in their position I would do the exact same thing, who cares if a bunch of internet nerds hate you when you are rolling in dough. Then again I am on the other side so I hope somebody rapes them.
interesting, reading....
Thats a good news!
