Any experience with stolen cars?
One of my neighbours just had theirs stolen at around 4am yesterday.
Any suggestions? He thinks he might know who it is? Any tips on going about trying to find it or insurance? Thanks |
I'm thinking call the cops!!:ak47:

What da fuck is the problem? Relax, this kinda shit happens every day.... But, not every day you know which motherfucker stole your car... and if you do know... you can either steal it back, or kick the motherfucker's ass |

Cops were called first thing...
He doesn't know for sure, but he thinks it might be someone. Some dude was asking him shit about his car like what mod's he did to it, the interior etc...thinking it's him. |

He can't just go and beat the guy he thinks stole it, because he doesn't know for sure if it's him or not.
He saw the guy drive off in his car and it wasn't the guy he thinks it is, but he thinks it's his friend. |
kill em both

Some people really do think ALL the answer and the world revolve around this message board, posts like this are proof.
Sure Ive had a few cars stolen, I never asked a message board what to do. :1orglaugh |

B40 tell your neighbour that he will get his car back in 1 or 2 months.
|
Tell him I'll bring it back tonight, chill out.

I'm just trying to help my neighbour out, I've already told him what I thought would help, but I'm sure there are some better suggestions out there. |
well you called the cops.. so that is done
they don't check stolen cars for fingerprints unless it was used in a crime. just have to wait for the recovery in the meantime notify your insurance company get all receipts for the mods and any new parts installed. you get reimbursed the value of the car plus any new items installed |

Sucks...he put a lot of time, effort, and money into that car. |
get the insurance money and get a new ride..

I had a shitty car stolen once, and when they arrested the dumbass that stole it, he was still driving it, had changed a burned out headlight and moved the counter back 30,000miles...
nice fella... |
What kind of car was it anyways? Chances are with mods on it and everything they've probably already parted the hell out of it. Wouldn't count on getting it back.

It was a Gulf, had rims, lowered, exhaust, and a bunch of engine mods. Also did the interior.
I think he said he put in about $10k into it. |
I have some experience with stolen cars.
The one I stole when I was 16 had a stolen pistol hidden under the back seat. When I got caught, the police found the gun, ran the serial, called the owner of the car and asked him if the stolen pistol was his. Doh! Apparently it wasn't, so I got charged with that too. It sucked because the keys were in the car, so actually taking the car was only a joyriding infraction. The concealed weapon was a class B misdemeanor. And, of course, when plea bargain time came they dropped the joyriding infraction and made me plead to the concealed weapons charge. Luckily I was a minor. No jail, just community service and a large fine. Got the records expunged when I turned 18. |
this is what i would do. if you know who stole it i would go and find the car . i would not take it back im more of a fucking evil person.
from the back of the seat cut a slice about 8 inches along the seat going across. get a peice of plywood and about 50 short drywall screws . take a long screw driver and raise the seat cloth up as high as you can and slide the plywood in . you will get your car back and insurance will cover the bloody seat. |
