best 17/19 LCD monitor at a reasonable price?

im looking to get one to finally replace the old monitor i have. i look at bestbuy and see HP's are cheap but i am not a fan of their computers, so i don't know if they are any good. something under 300 bucks is preferable.

ThePornPusher 11-02-2006 05:29 PM

I finally replaced mine a month or two ago. I went to bestbuy and picked up a 19'' widescreen LG monitor for $200..I liked it so much I went and bought another so I got two of them next to each other works great :thumbsup :thumbsup

wdsguy 11-02-2006 05:31 PM

check out ones by viewsonic.

Jace 11-02-2006 05:32 PM

what is a reasonable price? they are everyone for under $300, you don't have to look hard

you can go on www.pricewatch.com and find them for under $300 all day long

I quite satisfyied with my BenQ monitors. I think it's among the least expensive monitors and the quality is fairly good.

Check out Acer. I have a 17 inch on a backup and the color and crispness is unlike anything I have ever seen. Looking at about $150 give or take.

DamianJ 11-02-2006 06:02 PM

There's a new Dell w/s 20" for 230 USD

webcrawler 11-02-2006 06:18 PM

shekinah 11-02-2006 06:20 PM

Samsung has the line they market toward gamers, with 2 ms refresh rate. They are certainly easy on the eyes, but you pay a bit more for the added performance.

MyNameIsNobody 11-03-2006 07:41 PM

I'm doing great with a samsung syncmaster 19"

born2blog 11-03-2006 07:43 PM

I love viewsonic lcd monitors, and I like neovo lcd monitors as well (I just had a F-419 crap out on me though). Neovo LCD's are among the best performance vs. price you can get. Whatever you do... do NOT get hanns-g gah.

fetishblog 11-03-2006 09:24 PM

I love my 19" Dell LCD. 1905FP. :thumbsup I think it got replaced by the 1907FP though.

flashfire 11-04-2006 12:46 AM

tiger direct has some really good deals now...I got a 19" widescreen for under 200 and it looks as good as any I have seen...they dont have the one I bought anymore but some others at good prices.

BlackCrayon 11-04-2006 12:06 PM

thanks guys, i think i'll probably either go for acer or viewsonic. i don't use my pc for gaming, just web and watching video mostly. btw, do lcd monitors get rid of glare from windows/lights? im still using the old crt ones.

shake 11-04-2006 12:09 PM

I'm really happy with my samsung.

I think it was an HP in the store that I started to turn on it's stand - and the flex of the case caused something inside to short out and the screen went blank and it made a little smoke... so I didn't buy the HP that's for sure.

rick-e 11-04-2006 12:26 PM

I have a 19" samsung widescreen and I love it. You can get one for $275ish now I think

blink0 11-04-2006 01:37 PM

I have 3 19" LG LCDs. tHEY ALL HAVE 1600:1 contrast ratios and 2ms response times, and I got them all for about $300 a piece. Best monitors I ever owned.

BlackCrayon 11-04-2006 05:23 PM

wow, this is going to take some getting used to. i've used nothing but 17" monitors with 800x600 display before, now im 1280x1024. the fonts seem so small and the white is blinding.

Sp-Ken 11-04-2006 05:31 PM

I'd recommend 19" Samsung or Benq flat panels for around $200.
