Why America Rules

Too much anti-American bullshit on this board, so lets set the record straight.

The USA is the world?s largest source of humanitarian aid ? $15.8billion ? almost 2x as much as #2 Japan (These figures do not include aid to Afghanistan, Iraq or world food aid, which the United States is the largest contributor.)

We have the most nobel prize winners (270), more than 2.5x that of #2 UK

2nd largest number of internet users 159,000,000 (206,032,067 for the whole European Union). We are the #1 country with the most computers ? almost 4x that of #2 Japan All you motherfuckers do business with US Customers.

We have 97% literacy

4th largest labor force

2nd largest exports ? $714,500,000,000

Largest imports - $ 1,260,000,000,000

Everyone likes to comment on how we spend too much money on the military, but we're only 37th per capita.

We have 269 billionaires ? close to 10x that of #2 Japan.

We have the #2 highest per-capita income

We are #2 most visited by tourists.

If Americans are so stupid, why is it we have the world's most university students, almost 3x that of #2 India, almost 5x that of #3 Japan

Largest GDP in the world (the value of all final goods and services produced within a nation in a given year)

Largest GDP (nominal) which is the GDP nominalized based on currency exchange rates
the United States was ranked as the third most visited tourist destination in the world

IMD International: World Competitiveness Yearbook 2004, Rank 1 out of 60 economies (countries and regions)

Rank 2 out of 104 countries by the UNDP: Human Development Index 2004

Rank 8 out of 177 countries Save the Children: State of the World?s Mothers 2004

Rank 10 out of 119 countries Transparency International: Corruption Perceptions Index 2004,

Rank 17 out of 146 countries (tied with Belgium and Ireland) Reporters without borders: Third annual worldwide press freedom index (2004)

It is time for all the anti-americans out there to stop with their bullshit xenophobia. When your piddlyshit little country is #1 in something other than sucking off our teats, you can start blabbing your gums. Until then, shut the fuck up.

What does this have to do with the country being run by a group of complete morons? I don't see 'anti-American bullshit' -- I see people sick of Bushit :2 cents:

pigman 10-31-2006 10:13 AM

I guess some parts of the US is ok.

Bush !== America.
America is a country with more than 200 years of history. George Bush is definitely an idiot, but in the end, he will have been in office 8 years. The Bush administration is NOT America

websiex 10-31-2006 10:19 AM

Forgot the US is #1 at locking its own citizens up in gulags too... 5% of the world's population, 25% of the prison population. This is mostly due to the failed drug war.

And in my opinion, it is the #1 country in killing innocent civilians... over 2 million in Vietnam and estimates from Iraq can possibly be 600,000 already...

Otherwise, good place to live as long as you close your eyes to what the government is doing with geopolitics.

Klen 10-31-2006 10:20 AM

America is great country yet again a lot of shit in America in latest time.

mortenb 10-31-2006 10:23 AM

not that I have that much of a problem with the US, but if you are going to list some of the stats per capita, then you should check all of them per capita..

start with the first - humanitarian aid per capita.. the us is something like #25-30 on that list.

the US is not even close to being #1 per capita in most of the things you listed.

Even left-wing sites (such as Democracy Now) only state around 100,000.
If you're going to respond, at least know WTF you're talking about.

Why I bother answering any of this shit is beyond me, but I'll be a hater once more and point out a few obvious facts which don't need anything more than common sense - a element that seems to be grossly lacking.

That is an achievement - well done. It proves there are folks with more sense than you. The only problem may be that the US has 2.5x times the population of the UK and sounds logical there would be 2.5 times more people with an element of sense.

Sadly, that is not an achievement or anything to boast about. 97% places the US 55th on literacy rankings (as of 2005)... It's a long scan down to the bottom of the list - but try it, you can learn there are other counties in the world as you scan and perhaps one day you could even point then out on a map..

Anyone taking bets on how many pages this one will make it to? :)

PaulB IYP 10-31-2006 11:51 AM

I'm with you brother!
have a look at this article writetn by a Canadian!

America: The Good Neighbor.
By Gordon Sinclair

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts.

None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States. When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped. The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.

I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane.Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10?

If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon - not once, but several times - and safely home again.

You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.

I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."

Stand proud, America!

Now there's an ambitious thought Damage :winkwink:

Let's see... eight pages taken up by the mentally inflicted who are limited to dialog about "US haters", everyone else's "shit countries", asking where everyone else comes from and making vague claims they can't support.

So.. suppose that might leave half a page of content - max :pimp

Do you read material other than propaganda bullshit? Try reality sometimes - it can present a more balanced view :thumbsup

PS Totally agree with some elements of your post, but hey, - some are outright false and with no foundation, - we live on this planet, not elsewhere.

Hey Britney Spears has been a top selling musician and #1 in every kind of music poll they could think of, but does it mean she is actually the world's greatest musician? No. She can't even play an instrument.

I've got no interest in wasting any time on that silly comment by Sinclair - it's too riddled with utter bullshit and does not represent an overall balance of anything.

Try and find something worth actually cutting and pasting from a more balanced source/website - solarguard.com ??? DUH??? :1orglaugh

Sorry, but you have a HORRIBLE grasp of history. The Soviet Union under communism killed somewhere between 50 and 90 million civilians. I won't even go into what happened in Cambodia, China, and the whole African continent.
