Its real easy to judge the effectiveness of your own TGP gallery. After you've not looked at it for a while, punch in the URL and take a glance. Notice what your eyes are drawn to first.
If its the ads/links you are on the scoreboard. If its the pictures, or the white squares around them, you are sunk from the beginning. There are other factors too, like the text itself, but there is absolutely no substitute for a color scheme which pulls the attention towards the ads.
Your links are monochrome, no rollover action, and the text itself is about as uninspiring as it gets. I can get free indian pics from the damn TGP, why click on your link?Last edited by Gutterboy; 07-08-2002, 10:00 AM.Comment

Your text links are the problem. They're in one color, no rollover action, they don't give me any incentive to click at all. I can get free indian pics from the damn TGP, why click on your link?

to be honest, your gallery is boring...try using some graphics, or make it more appealing to the eye. Do some cropping on the thumbs, and use some nice colors.
check out the biggest tgps, and look at the top 10 gallerys in each. Notice that most of them look good. sorry, but the days of 15 pics and text link are outdated.

A site on the server the gallery was on got hit hard by some kind of dos attack. Still trying to find out how the fuck they were doing it - logs are downloading. htaccess cured it but not for about 36 hours when I finally relaised. Hun removed the gallery from his list as I presume it wasn't loading too well most of the time.Originally posted by srikanth79

The first 10 or so links on the big TGP's are paid listings. Look at them every day and figure out why these people, despite the bandwidth costs, are able to make money while paying for listings. I'm not suggesting copying, I'm suggesting developing an intuitive feel for what sells TGP traffic.
That is how I learned to TGP. Its not like SE optimization where the pro's can hide their sucessful tricks through cloaking.Comment
