I think my plasma is dying
The picture on my plasma is not what it used to be :l/ Seems the colours are a lot darker no matter how much I mess with brightness / contrast and other settings :o/
It must be 4-5 years old now and I watch it quite a lot maybe 4 hours a day or more so I'm guessing its fading out.. anyone had a plasma expire on them? |
I do, 3 years. depressing considering what I paid for it back then. Time for LCD
|
I've had mine 2 years now.... once it goes out I'll do LCD maybe

"Now, there are varying degrees of phosphor ignition along the way (the same way a CRT fades). Dissipation begins the moment you turn the set on. After 1000 hours of usage a plasma monitor should measure around 96% of its original brightness, which is barely noticeable to the naked eye. At 15,000 to 20,000 hours the monitor should measure around 80% brightness, or to state is technically, 80% of the original phosphors (gases) are being ignited."

http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/IS...flatpanel.html Ultimately you always have to get out to a store and see the products. Its definately not something I'd buy over teh interweb without seeing it in real life first. |
