Awstats has as default that data (referring url's, most visited documents) are shown on a monthly basis. Can that be changed to a day to day basis?

rodney25 10-29-2006 06:42 AM

I always find awstats pretty reliable.

How can you see daily referers/hits with webaliser?

Darkhorse 05-23-2007 05:06 PM

http://www.haveamint.com been using it for ages find it pretty damn sweet.

Sosa 05-23-2007 05:08 PM

webalizer for most, awstats for some others

tranza 05-23-2007 05:12 PM

I'm using AWStats myself, I wish I could see the daily stats with referrals and all.

If you find out a way let me know!!

:)

BiggleJones 05-23-2007 05:15 PM

Urchin...really nice and detailed program. Its expensive, but some hosts include it on their servers.

StarkReality 05-23-2007 05:21 PM

AWstats, it's not perfect, but I'm used to it and it's sufficient.

cartelcash_roupen 05-23-2007 05:27 PM

the new version of google analytics kicks major ass

Well exactly, I'm also looking for for server stats that will tell me referers/hits per day...

Even tho you need to add a javascript code, anyone knows if Analytics can let you see referers/hits for each days?

but them charging $3000/year for support scares me a bit.. lol Is it that complex?

Jace 05-23-2007 05:33 PM

how many search terms does google analytics show now? and does it show them broken down by each engine?

I have used www.cnstats.com for so long I feel spoiled

Jamie 05-23-2007 05:39 PM

I've heard Nat Net gives you stats in all 3 favors for each domain
awstats, webalizer and analog

Thats pretty cool of them

they do, but they are all server log stats

I use them for certain things, but I always end up back checking my cnstats

million 05-23-2007 06:02 PM

AWSTATS for sure

Jace 05-23-2007 06:07 PM

how do you all deal with awstats only showing so much of the SE results and not showing which SE sent which result? that bugs the SHIT out of me

jimb 05-23-2007 06:37 PM

AWstats for on server stats.
Google Analytics for 3rd party stats.

I received this email just moments ago telling me about CrazyEgg
http://crazyegg.com/ since I host at Lunar Pages - might be worth checking out

Forkbeard 05-24-2007 12:56 AM

Damn, you guys need better hosting like I get from Mojohost! :winkwink: They answer questions like this for me ... with solutions, which is even better than answers.

This was bugging me just last week, so I filed a support ticket asking my server guys to get me some better stats. They (meaning their man Greg Martin, he's great) tweaked awstats so that if I access it with a url specifying a single day of the month, I get stats displayed for that day only. Love it!

(Apparently awstats is *not* set up with a spiffy interface for daily stats, but you can set it up just to look at one day's log file at a time when you ask for that.)

And then like Jace, I thought, I need better search stats! WTF is up with this listing of traffic by search engine, with no referrals?

Told Greg much the same thing, only I put it nicer, and he was able to tweak awstats again so that it has four custom reports that break out the search referrals for google, yahoo, microsoft, and google images. I've been geeking out ever since! Knowing *exactly* where my Google image search traffic is coming from, where it's landing, and what keyword brought it, is all valuable as hell.

Seriously, this was stuff that had been bugging me for a freakin' year. I suspect it's "above and beyond the call of duty" even for managed hosting, but Mojohost spoils me, what can I say?

Forkbeard 05-24-2007 10:00 AM

Just an update on the "making me money" claim. Was studying the new google image search results this morning and discovered I had traffic to a blog post about a sex toy, coming from an image in the #1 spot for the name of the sex toy. The blog post was from 2004 at a time when I didn't have a decent toy seller to work with, so there was no link for someone to buy the toy. Needless to say, this has now been fixed.

Google image search traffic is *not* worthless, it's just very highly targeted.

s9ann0 05-24-2007 10:31 AM

awstats analog
