$1000.00 a Week
Curious. With all of the talk on here weekly. Especially with all the talk of big houses, and not able to retire on a couple of million, the cars, and working your pimphand on the ladies.
Who couldn't live on that, and why? :helpme |
Money is addictive
|
I could live with that here in Brazil.
The minimum wage over here is around $200 a month FYI. So the cost of life over here is very low. After saying that I must add that if I was making only $1k/week I would be pissed... :) |
I couldn't live on that because I live in California and I have kids and a wife. Well, I could live on it, but it would be a pain in the ass.
|
$1k PROFIT a week? Most people could live on it easily, starting from a clean slate.
It's when your living expenses exceed $1k a week that you run into trouble obviously, hehe ;) |
Is that net or gross?
Net it would be fine, in my area of the world. |
1000 a week = 52,000 a year (im glad college gave me good math skills)... lol i wouldn't settle for that.

To clarify...the $1000.00 a week would be take home. |
I live in California and have a fiance. She does work but every cent she earns goes back into her own business, she has not paid herself a dime yet in two years. So we live off of my income.
I know for a fact that we could live comfortably for 1000.00 a week. I do have a few contributing factors though. House is paid off, vehicles are paid off, no real credit card debt as balances are paid monthly. So I would have about the following, not considering business related: Insurances: 360.00 mo. Utilities: 250.00 mo. Cable: 125.00 mo. Gasoline: 40.00 mo. (personal usages) Property tax: 60.00 mo. (personal) Costco membership: approx 10.00 mo. Groceries/household items: 400.00 mo. Credit monitoring: 15.00 mo. Seems like 1260.00 per month for necessities. Rentals alone cover that and then some. Yet even ignoring that income, 1000.00 per week in adult after costs. Would leave me with 2740.00 left over for whatever. Striking out say 1000.00 a month (over doing it) for taxes, still would leave me with 1740.00 a month. Of course I would need to make sure I did not get sick. |
Most people could do that if they didn't live in such a huge house etc. Now almost all my of money I make from online goes into my company and hardly touches my personal account except my monthly salary. But for personal 1k/week people can live off that for the most part.

just can't be done in southern california unless you're single.

Because some people want to be successfull.

sounds like a lot of you people are slaves to your belongings...simplify man!
|
$4k per month is not that much, but here even if you admit to netting $10k per month, you'll be seen as a loser by some people

soon i will be making much more than that...and yes, its possible to live from
|
Considering 52k/yr is more then alot of people make.. i'll take it. I could easily live on it.
|
Anyone can live on that.
Can they live the way they're accustomed to living now? Maybe not. But they can live. Property to expensive? Move. Bills to high? Cut some out of your life. Do you really need a cell phone, 2 home phones, a fax line and a car phone? Probably not. Food bills to high? Try not eating out so much. Buy things in bulk, shop at different places. The money you need to have luxuries is directly above the level of money you need to live. |

1k a week would be enough for me ...
|
It's not about what you make. It's about what you need. For that, everyone is different.
A study was done in the US that showed "life changing" income peaked out at $50,000. That moving from $50k to $100k didn't have the same effect on lives as moving from $25k to $50k. |
I make a grand while I am taking a shit.

I could do it as I am pretty good at keeping debts away
|
i could live off 1k a week
it would be a life style change for sure ... but i dont make much more than that anyways but i know if i cut my gadget addiction out of my life i'd be fine |
depends on where u live
|
I have bills to add up to over 8000.00 a months.
|
Newsflash: VERY few people here make $1k profit a week - make that VERY VERY few people.
|
i would be satisfied with that income....
|
$1000 a week clear profit I could live on easily. If my house and car was paid off and I had $1K a week for myself thats damn easy. I'd be lucky to spend $200 a week of it if ALL my bills were paid.
|
People saying you couldn't live on 1000 profit per week are full of shit.
You CAN easily live on 1000 per MONTH profit almost anywhere...yeah, probably even california, london or japan. It's not a grand lifestyle though, you pay your rent, cook at home (what's on sale), don't drive a car or own a phone or big-screen tv. Reality check people.. |

if it's $1k after taxes, and you have no family to support, $1k/week isn't THAT bad....
|
$1k a week profit for a single person or couple without any dependents is plenty of money to live an average lifestyle. You can either have an apartment anywhere but Manhattan and Beverly Hills, a small older house or a mobile home. Eliminating luxury items like movies, video games, alcohol, eating out, etc etc your cost of living will remain very low. You could spend a few bucks on movies, maybe eat out once a month.
As soon as you have a bigger and/or newer house or in a more expensive area, your expenses immediately go up. If you work at home or for yourself, they go up even more. Your cost of living is directly connected with your housing and area. Unless you live off of credit cards in constant debt, you won't be able to have a big house, fancy cars (especially the insurance on them), travel to many places, eat at expensive places often, or buy things that you would if you weren't on "budget." You can save up for big purchases or whatever, but you will always have to live within your means to not go into debt. Our expenses not including business for Napolean, me and my mom: Rent: $1600/month Gas: $50/month Electric: $300-$500 a month Water: $50/month Car payment: $567/month Car insurance: $290/month Groceries: $400-600/month Gasoline: $50-$100 a month Cable: $120/month Phone/DSL: $350/month Those are just our basic bills not including business expenses, taxes and "luxury" items like our furniture, movies etc. We're going to be downsizing soon in an effort to build a house in the next few years. You will never get ahead by renting or having a huge mortgage. So really, anyone could live off of $1k a week or even $1k a month, but it just depends on what you want and not what you need. A lot of people are satisified with living modestly and normal/middle class. Others want it all... I'm somewhere in between. I can really go either way. Having money is definitely better than being poor but I'm a switch hitter, I can be happy financially either way. I just don't see any reason not to make yourself successful. Working and striving keeps you young. When you're green you're growing, when you're ripe, you rot. |
