Any pilots around here, I am newbie

Hi to all I am new in all this, I like flying so here is refreshing thread: are there any pilots around here; what do you fly; how much expiriance do you have?

I am paraglider pilot for about year. Great thing, you can fly like bird with the birds.

Would like to hear others expiriances.

Love Brokers 10-29-2006 12:13 AM

I use to fly till it got too fucking expensive! Started in 1963 in Cessna 150. Then stopped after 15 hours or so. Took it up again in 1974 in Piper Cherokees. Got private license and moved on to Piper Arrow complex. Really liked flying. Just too expensive now. Have about 300 hours total time. I intorduced three brothers to it and all three got so hooked they all got their Commercial CFI Instrument Ratings and Certs. I think all of them have over 20 thousand hours now. One is retired L.A.P.D. the other is in sales, and the youngest works Air Traffic Control out in Palmdale, Calif.

MOxxx 10-29-2006 12:13 AM

Multi Engine-Commercial pilot-Instrument rating-Tail wheel certificate,Crop dusting experience, 800hrs...then i got married.

bobby666 10-29-2006 06:53 AM

Gillespie 10-29-2006 07:13 AM

I'm a private pilot, just over 120 hours on small single props, like C152s, 172s, 182s, PA38s, etc. Welcome to GFY, captain!

I grew up flying with my Dad, who's a CFI/II. He and my Uncle had planes or access to them all my childhood. A Bee Gee (my favorite), King Air 350, 152, 172s and 192, Piper Cub, etc.

They both did a lot of aerobatics too, so I get pretty pumped whenever the airliner gets some rough air.

I never got a ticket, but I can fly pretty much anything with a prop.

RawAlex 10-29-2006 12:48 PM

For those who are bored, want to try...

http://www.x-plane.com - just make sure you have a very, very strong PC if you want to run it full.

Flight Simulator X was also released recently. However, it's only good for the visual experience. If you're looking for extremely real flight dynamics, go with X Plane.

I had some nice flights few days ago. I hope that you pilots had some good flying. It is nice when you make your dreams real.

V_RocKs 03-22-2007 02:50 AM

I have been interested in getting a pilots license for a long time.

I was checking the rates it would cost to get one and was surprised at how relatively cheap it is.

Lucinka 03-22-2007 02:53 AM

welcome, dude:winkwink:

Pumba 03-22-2007 03:13 AM

I flew the Pipe Warrior for a 30min once, offcourse with friend instructor looking every move I make.

Pumba 03-22-2007 03:18 AM

Well, it shurly it isn't cheap for my budget. Paragliding is so much easier an cheaper. The laws are not so rigid. You can go and fly from almost any hill you like.As long you don't fly over airfeld. It is nice to wake in the morning, take your wing walk to the top of the hill, spread your wing like bird and fly away.
