Can I get sued for calling someone a bitch?

Can I get sued for telling someone "shut the fuck up you stupid bitch" or arrested? This is in California and I don't really know my laws around here.

as long as it's not to a judge during a trial, you should be fine. Freedom of speech.

You could if you say it to a cop. Cops think they're special like that. Not all, but many. And some communities actually have little retarded laws that make it an infraction to mouth off at an officer. (even if he actually IS being a fucking retard bitch, abusing his power, etc)

You can get sued for anything. Doesn't mean they'll win. You can get arrested for a plethora of reasons. Doesn't mean it will stick.

Yes, there is freedom of speech. There is also responsible speech. Be responsible when exercising your freedom of speech and you have nothing to worry about. If you run around looking for trouble, then you're just an idiot and most likely deserve a crack upside the head.
